On October 10, the Turkish military established yet another post in the northwestern Syrian region of Greater Idlib where several terrorist group are present and active.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the new post was built in the town of Afes in the southern Idlib countryside, only a few hundred meters away from Syrian Arab Army (SAA) positions in the town of Saraqib.
According to the London-based monitoring group, two battle tanks, four armored personnel carriers, three armored vehicles and around 50 troops were deployed in the post that oversees the Lattakia-Aleppo highway, the M4, and the Hama-Aleppo highway, the M5.
The frontline post was established amid reports of a near operation by the SAA and its allies in Greater Idlib. The operation will reportedly target al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies who violated the ceasefire in the region on a daily basis.
A recent report by the Syrian Arab News Agency revealed that the Turkish military deployed large reinforcements in Greater Idlib recently in order to obstacle any operation by the SAA and its allies.
Turkey appears to be determined to shield armed factions in Greater Idlib, especially HTS the de-facto ruler of the region. This could lead to a serious confrontation with the SAA and its allies, including Russia.
Time for some roasted Turkey 🦃 🔥
The turk fools are now trying to hide behind the SAA. It won’t save your monkey asses. Pathetic.
What a desperate move. Turning friendly-fire into an advance :-)
