The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB) reported that a sabotage group was destroyed when it was trying to break through Russian border in the Bryansk region.
The first reports about the incident came the day before on October 27th. The FSB officially confirmed that an attempt to enter the Russian territory was thwarted in the Klimovsky district in the border Bryansk region. Russian forces entered the battle.
As a result of the operation, four saboteurs were eliminated. The retreating remnants of the sabotage group were covered by Russian artillery and missile fire on the Ukrainian territory.

According to preliminary reports, the group consisted of about 30 militants, mostly foreign mercenaries from Sweden, Poland, Venezuela and Britain.
The footage shared by the FSB confirmed that the militants were armed with communications equipment and foreign-made weapons. One of the killed saboteurs had a tattoo of a U.S. Army parachute reconnaissance regiment. In addition, they took the flag of Canada, a prayer book in Polish, and a notebook with notes on tactical training in English were found.
The attackers likely hoped to take photos with their flags on the Russian territory. As a result, they had one taken by Russians.
