On April 17, unknown gunmen attacked a group of UN experts who were in the Duma district to monitor the situation there, according to Major General Yuri Yevtushenko, the chief of the Russian center for reconciliation of conflicting sides in Syria.
Maj. Gen. Yevtushenko added that one Syrian security officer had been injured in the incident and denied all the reports that talked about Russian causalities.
“A gunfight broke out between Syrian security agencies and unidentified persons at the outer perimeter safeguarding the motor convoy … In the exchange of fire, a Syrian security officer sustained a light wound. Russian servicemen were not present at the site of the incident,” Maj. Gen. Yevtushenko told reporters on April 18, according to the Russian news agency TASS.
The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) confirmed in an official statement, released on April 18, that experts of the UN Department of Safety & Security (UNDSS) came under fire while they were conducting a reconnaissance mission in one of the sites of the alleged chemical attack in Duma.
The OPCW didn’t say when its fact finding mission will start its work in Duma. However, the organization stressed in its statement that it will work with the Damascus government, Russia and the local council in Duma to review the security situation in the district.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack on the UNDSS experts yet. Syrian pro-government activists believe cells of Jaysh al-Islam could be behind the attack which was an attempt to obstacle the OPCW investigation in Duma.
No doubt some state actors representatives, you know, the ones in the bombing coalition trying to impede the truth which will expose their lies about CW use.
The UNDDS is actually security provided by Syrian government , the site is under control by Russian police. Really incredible how the OPCW is being manipulated by Western Governments now.

As to the OPCW being manipulated…. just like the UN is a tool for the Empire since the Empire flaunts the rules it agreed to abide by, at the founding of the organization, with impunity. I’m sure that Russia keeps all of these things in mind and why it states that it won’t blindly accept any finding without being part of the investigation (and access to it’s citizens which appear to be kidnapped by the UK and/or the US) in other words, the rules for the OPCW to be adhered to by all member states as well as diplomatic norms being followed.

I can’t understand the Russians allowing journalists to wander around Duma unchecked. There are CIA and MI6 agents among journalists who will plant chemicals in there.
To the Russians, these journalists are supposed to be free and able to file their reports unescorted..

Assad claimed a major victory in Duma. Duma is completely controlled by Assad or Assad is telling one more lie about his great military victories. Sounds like Assad is now claiming US forces control Duma and Trump ordered them to murder white helmets. Next Assad will be declaring victory over US forces in Duma. That Assad is a military genius. On the other hand there is one very simple explanation… Assad ordered his troops in Duma to shoot white helmets because they are bound to find evidence of his chemical weapon attack.

So who is keeping the white helmets away from the site? If Assad was innocent he would have protected the white helmets and given them everything they need to do their job. Do you believe claims that the US now controls the chemical weapons attack site and is stopping the white helmets?
Firstly, the White Helmets members have repeatedly been identified on social media, through their own posts, as al-Nusra affiliated, and the organization itself was founded, and is overseen, by an ‘ex’ MI6 agent and mercenary, James Le Mesurier, and receives heavy financing from the British state (ie NATO). Secondly, the Syrian state has no obligation to assist a known terrorist affiliated and foreign NATO created and sponsored group – who are most certainly not chemical weapons experts nor forensic scientists.

I claim no expertise in this area. Bottom line is a team is there to inspect the side and publish the report. They are being prevented from inspecting the site. If Assad was innocent he should send 1000 soldiers to guard the team while they complete their work. Otherwise the world will absolutely know Assad was responsible.

There will obviously be US terrorist sleeper cells left behind in Douma BUT they will now be operating in a very hostile civilian environment as a consequence for starving and abusing them. It is quite possible that some NATO special forces are still there and waiting for an easier time to escape.
