The al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas Movement, and the al-Quds Brigade, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, released between August 18 and 19 several videos showing recent attacks against the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in different parts of the Gaza Strip.
The first video shows a recent attack that targeted a supply convoy of the IDF in the Netzarim Corridor in central Gaza. During the ambush, Hamas fighters targeted the convoy with explosive devices and small arms fire. Two soldiers were killed and several others were wounded in the attack.
Two other videos showed Hamas and Jihad fighters attacking a main battle tank and an armored personnel carrier of the IDF in Gaza City’s Shejaiya neighborhood in northern Gaza an anothern joint attack on Israeli vehicles and troops in Rafah City’s Shaboura neighborhood in the southern part of the Strip.
The last video shows Jihad fighters shelling IDF gatherings in the area of al-Qararah to the north of the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
The death of the two reservists brought Israel’s toll in the ground operations against Hamas and other Palestinian armed factions in Gaza and along its border to 335. Around 2,200 others have been reportedly wounded. There is no clear information on the IDF’s material losses, but Israel is reported to have lost hundreds of military vehicles in the Strip.
Meanwhile on the Palestinian side, the death toll from Israel’s military operations in Gaza has exceeded 40,100, with women and children making up most of the casualties.
