On January 1st, Hamas’ internal security service published an audio recording, allegedly presenting Col. Shaaban Abdullah Algharbawi, who is responsible for the PA’s intelligence in the Gaza Strip, and a representative of the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet).
In the released audio recording, the individual, claimed to be Col. Shaaban Abdullah Algharbawi speaks to the alleged Shin Bet officer and describes the weapons and positions of Islamic Jihad, and specifically mentions Baha Abu al-Ata and blaming him for missile attacks on Israeli territory.
In addition, the conversation mentions a meeting of the Al-Quds Brigades military council, attended by Abu al-Ata, where the operation with the use of Kornet anti-tank missiles against Israeli military patrols in the Nahal Oz area on the Gaza border was coordinated.
The conversation also calls the name of the field commander who is directly responsible for the preparation and implementation of this operation – Ubaidah Umar Khamis al-Rula.
In the audio recording provided by Hamas intelligence agencies, al-Rarbaui provides information on 3 targets to the Shin Bet:
- the position where Islamic Jihad plan to attack the Israeli military jeep;
- a “garbage dump” in the Jur al-Dik region, southeast of Gaza, which is used as an observation post;
- Al-Quds Brigades tunnel near the power plant, east of the Al-Shaaf region, east of the city of Gaza, which leads to the Israeli border.
The source also reminds that in the past he gave information regarding three Islamic Jihad tunnels to the Shin Bet.
On December 29th, a video was released, with the partial audio recording, but the recording released on January 1st allegedly contains the entire conversation.
In the conversation, the presumed Algharbawi explains that the monitoring groups of the Al-Quds Brigades are working day and night in order to follow the mentioned objectives and record the coordinates of the site and the movement of the jeeps that they intend to target.
Al-Gharabawi says that the political circle of the Islamic Jihad movement refused to carry out the operation due to the situation in Gaza, pointing out that the instructions were issued by the Military Council of the Al-Quds Brigades, and they worked on their own.
The recording was released to substantiate a report by Hamas that it had discovered a network of Israeli-linked spies in the Palestinian Authority.
Fatah, the party that dominates the PA, claimed that the allegations are false. It claimed that the ministry’s allegations are “baseless lies aimed at covering up the secret understandings between Hamas and Israel.”
“This is a theater performance that has been woven together by Hamas’s delusions,” Fatah said in a statement.
Hussein al-Sheikh, a senior PA official, also responded to the allegations, insinuating that Hamas helped Israel kill Abu al-Ata.
He tweeted that Hamas “sold out the blood of Abu al-Ata” to achieve the understandings with Israel.
On December 28th, Hamas released different statement, calling for the Palestinian Authority to stop security coordination with Israel, as it continues advanced negotiations with the Israeli government, through Egyptian and Qatari mediation, to reach a long-term truce agreement.
It appears that Hamas decided to release further evidence in order to persuade any doubters of the validity of the accusations against the suspected Israeli-linked spies.

Gaza is a concentration camp and the Jews pass food and water to it, they can make them all starve and sick whenever they want, but they have more fun killing a few at a time, or with snipers on a big hunt or with aerial bombardments. Hamas can do nothing, only the international democratic community with sanctions against the Nazi-Sion state can help these people, whom the Tel Aviv hitlerials consider sub human.
