On Saturday, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham fighters stormed a TOW missile depot of the Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement in Khan al-Asal town and a military post of the movement in Kafrnaha town in the western Aleppo countryside, according to opposition sources.
HTS fighters seized at least one TOW missile launcher and several TOW missiles from the depot and arrested several fighters of the Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement including high-ranking commanders during the raid.
On Sunday, the Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement and HTS agreed to solve the problem peacefully and to refer the dispute to a Shari’a court, according to sources close to the movement. However, it’s worth to mention that such “courts” in Idlib are usually run by HTS and dominated by its members.
On July 20, the Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement defected from HTS becauser of a HTS attack against Ahrar al-Sham. It is believed that HTS wants to eliminate the Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement as a warning to other armed group in Idlib province that may think about defecting from HTS in the future.
