Violating the Russian-Turkish deconfliction agreement, the former branch of al-Qaeda in Syria, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) announced on November 1 that its fighters had attacked a position of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the village of Abu Qamis in southeastern Idlib and killed three Syrian soldiers.
A source in the SAA confirmed to SouthFront that heavy clashes broke out near Abu Qmais, but declined to provide further information. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported the clashes and said that at least one fighter of HTS had been killed during the attack.
This was not the first time when HTS admited that it violates the deconfliction agreement. Last week, the radical group announced that its fighters had shelled a gathering of SAA troops near the town of Khan Tuman northwest of the city of Aleppo.
These violations indicate that HTS is not willing to respect any part of the deconfliction agreement, which will likely led to the full collapse of the deal. Previously, Syrian opposition sources reported that the “radical wing” within the group, which includes foreign Jihadists, was working to sabotage the agreement in any possible way.
Cool, this demilitarization zone really works.
Turkey is not lifting a finger to remove the terrorist from the demilitarized zone as promised.
The time has come. Eliminate them heroic Syria (and Russia); no casualties your side please.
go and take control of the DMZ. turkey is not capable. then you set a new DMZ 15-20 km inside. if it will be attacked again, do the same… idlib will shrink
” Turkey is not capable ” or Not willing, or both perhaps ?
