On May 21, a commander of al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) was assassinated in Idlib’s city center in northwest Syria.

According to HTS sources, the commander, known as Abu al-Harith al-Hamui, was killed when an improvised explosive device (IED) ripped through his SUV in the northern part of Idlib city. The incident took place in the morning.

Abu al-Harith, real name – Anas Nabahan, was reportedly a senior military commander of HTS. He originally was from the town of Janat Elsawarneh in the northeastern countryside of Hama.

No group has claimed responsibility for the assassination so far. However, HTS commanders are usually targeted by ISIS cells, or even the Syrian intelligence.

The assassination of Abu al-Harith came at a time when HTS is desperately working to rebuild its military capabilities. The terrorist group’s grip over Greater Idlib was weakened after the recent Syrian military operation. Nevertheless, it is still the largest and most influential group there.

Dammed, now Erdogan has to look for a new jihadist commander, and he lacks money. He had only enough money to pay the terrorists in Lybia their first month and after warts they received no money more, he is even cheating them friends.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

I’d be thinking the Turkish backed opposition would be the ones most likely to be responsible, The Turks are trying to open the highway and HTS is stopping them, and HTS is doing business with the Syrian government which is also annoying Erdogan, so I think that’d be enough to get him killed.
