On December 7, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (formelry Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) repelled an attack of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) on their positions in the village of al-Shakusiyah in the northeastern Hama countryside, according to the HTS-linked news agency Iba’a.
The US-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) group Jaysh al-Nasr also supported Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and destroyed a tank of the SAA with a TOW ATGM on Rabdah Hill, according to oppositions sources.
Meanwhile, local sources said that the Russian Aerospace Forces have stepped up their aerial operations against HTS and its allies. Russian warplanes conducted dozens of airstrikes and destroyed several positions of HTS in al-Hass Mount in the southwestern Aleppo countryside, and in the towns of al-Tamanah and Khan Shaykhun in the southern Hama countryside on December 7.
Moreover, the Hezbollah media wing in Syria announced that the SAA attacked and destroyed three vehicles of HTS southwest of the town of Khanasir in the southern Aleppo countryside. At least ten fighters of HTS were killed in the attack.
Syrian pro-govement sources believe that the Tiger Forces will launch its military operation to reach the Abu al-Duhur Airbase in the southwestern Aleppo countryside next week as they finish all of its tasks in Deir Ezzor governorate.
Godspeed as they used to say. The brave men of the SAA and Hezbollah and their allied militias in Syria (as well as the Russian servicemen) have become for me legends like the Allied (Especially Red Army) Veterans of WWII. Daesh and their fellow Wahhabist/Salafist butchers are truly the Nazis of our time but worse yet are the Western states and Zionists who support them. May God grant victory to Syria over all her enemies and may the Almighty grant rest to all the fallen warriors who died for Syria and make their memory to be eternal.
Yes, they fought and died for us all Amen
The packet will need to be clear before starting new operation in Idlib. Never leave unfinished job, otherwise you may pay very dearly
Sounds like good advice, which likely will be ignored. One word : flanks.
A small correction to our friends of SF staff: Al Tamani’ah and Khan Sheikhun are in southern Idleb countryside, not Hama. (check third paragraph from above).
