On October 31, several videos documenting some of the Russian military’s recent operations against Kiev forces surfaced online.
12 of the videos show dozens of attacks with FPV suicide drones, grenade-dropping drones, and interceptor drones that targeted Ukrainian troops, posts and equipment, across several directions within the special military operation zone over the last few days.
An additional video shows an attack with a TOS thermobaric rocket launcher on Ukrainian fortifications near the settlement of Novouzhvinovka in the Kharkiv direction.
Four other videos show airstrikes with UMPK-equipped guided glide bombs, including at least one massive FAB-3000, that targeted positions of Kiev forces near the settlement of Nechaevka in the direction of Dnepropetrovsk, as well as close to the settlements of Myrnohrad, Platonovka, and Tsikovo in the direction of Donetsk.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Kiev forces have lost 668 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 93,879 drones, 633 air defense systems, 25,773 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,608 multiple rocket launchers, 30,943 artillery pieces, and 45,383 support vehicles since the start of the special military operation.

the syrian observatory for human rights has documented 67 deaths as a result of retaliatory behavior and liquidation operations since the beginning of october 2025 in various syrian governorates, including 59 men, 7 women, and one child.
homs governorate was the most affected with 20 victims (15 men, 4 women, and 1 child), followed by aleppo with 12 cases, all males, then hama with 11 cases (all men). in the damascus countryside, 8 cases were recorded (7 men and 1 woman), while latakia recorded 5 cases, idlib 6 cases (4 men and 2 women), tartous and daraa 2 cases each, while one case was recorded in damascus.
the toll indicates that a number of these crimes were committed for sectarian motives, as 5 cases were documented in the damascus countryside, 18 cases in homs, 3 cases in hama, 3 cases in latakia, one case in aleppo, 3 cases in idlib, two cases in tartous and daraa, in addition to the only case in damascus.
details of incidents by date:
october 1: agricultural engineering academic haider younis shaheen was assassinated after an unknown gunman shot him inside his home in the village of mayar shaker in the tartous countryside, an area with an alawite majority.
according to local sources, the perpetrator fired four bullets at the engineer around 9 p.m. before fleeing, while shaheen died after being taken to the hospital.
air force intelligence, while the other had previously worked with auxiliary forces and was accused of committing crimes and violations against the people of the region.
in the western hama countryside, unknown gunmen executed three brothers from the town of hayalin in the field, after storming their house at night and taking them to an unknown destination, where they were tortured, killed, and their bodies thrown on the public road.
two young christians were also killed by four masked gunmen riding motorcycles in front of al-mukhtar’s office in the village of anaz in the western homs countryside, after the attackers fired about 30 random bullets, killing them instantly, before fleeing towards the village of al-hosn via the tanning road.
october 2: the body of a young man was found shot dead by unknown assailants on the nabaa al-tayeb road in the western hama countryside, and the dead man came from the village of ain al-krum, and was a member of the alawite sect.
october 3: the body of engineer majd khalil, a member of the alawite sect who hails from the village of harif in the masyaf countryside, was found two days after he was kidnapped while returning from his work in the transport
directorate in damascus, where he was found murdered in the city of al-sanamayn in the northern daraa countryside, bearing signs of torture and gunshots.
last september, he was beaten and insulted by a faction led by the so-called “abu hudhayfah” during a security campaign in the al-sumaria neighborhood in damascus.
a young shiite man from the town of al-foua in the idlib countryside was also killed, days after he was kidnapped in latakia governorate. according to sources, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of $150,000, and when the family was unable to pay it, they sent a video clip documenting his brutal slaughter.
october 6: a young man from the alawite sect, from qardaha, was killed by direct gunfire inside a relative’s farm.
october 7: an alawite physical therapist was killed by direct gunfire in the police housing neighborhood of homs by unknown gunmen riding a motorcycle and wearing public security uniforms.
an alawite citizen was also killed in the ikrimah neighborhood inside his shop.
in the jubb al-jandali neighborhood in homs, a teacher was killed while on her way to work in front of walid al-najjar school after being exposed to direct gunfire.
october 8: a christian citizen from the village of al-yaqoubiyah in the idlib countryside was slaughtered inside his home in the village of duwayr al-sheikh saad in the tartous countryside under mysterious circumstances.
october 9: an alawite citizen from the town of mahrousa in the masyaf countryside was killed two days after his kidnapping.
in aleppo, a former member of the militia “al-quds brigade” died from wounds he sustained on september 25 on the ramousah road.
a “micro” driver was also killed on the arbaeen line in the bab tripoli area by unknown gunmen, and another was killed in the masaken hanano neighborhood who was accused of cooperating with the regime.
in damascus, a first assistant from branch 220 (sa’sa) was killed inside his home in mezzeh 86 following direct gunfire.
october 10: a young man from the town of ariha in the southern idlib countryside was killed by unknown assailants riding a motorcycle.
in daraa, a christian civilian working in transporting vegetables was shot dead by unknown assailants in the village of tabna while sitting inside his car.
october 11: an alawite citizen was killed in the al-zahraa neighborhood of homs by unknown assailants on a bicycle.
a former member of the regime forces was also killed near the aleppo citadel, and a driver “micro” was killed in the city of hama on the line south of the stadium.
october 12: an armed group stormed the home of an alawite family in the village of danha in the western homs countryside, killing a young man (17 years old) and wounding his father and brother.
october 13: a person was killed in the masha’ al-fursan neighborhood in hama city after being targeted by unknown assailants at close range.
in adra in the damascus countryside, a former member of the “free army” was killed inside his car by unknown gunmen.
october 15: a former air force intelligence officer was assassinated in aleppo by unknown gunmen in the al-firdaws neighborhood.
october 16: the body of a fifty-year-old woman was found murdered inside her home in the old husseiniya project in the damascus countryside, bearing signs of stabbing with a sharp object.
according to the information, the palestinian woman is married to an afghan and lived alone, and was previously accused of cooperating with the regime’s security services.
in the village of al-mukhtabiya in the talkalakh region in the western countryside of homs, two masked gunmen attacked a barbershop belonging to the father of the young woman, mira thabat, killing two people and seriously wounding the owner of the barbershop, before the two attackers fled.
in the city of aleppo, a former member of the regime forces was killed in the al-sukari neighborhood, and a merchant from idlib was killed by unknown gunmen inside his store in the seventh savings project in latakia.
in homs, a man and his wife were shot dead by unknown assailants inside a store in the karm al-zaytoun neighborhood.
a young man from the shiite town of al-zahraa in the aleppo countryside was also killed by unknown gunmen in sayyida zeinab in the damascus countryside.
october 17: hisham khazami, a former representative of the iranian regime and militias, was killed in the al-furqan neighborhood of aleppo by unknown assailants.
he hails from maarat al-numan in the idlib countryside, and has been a mediator in prisoner exchange deals between the opposition and the regime since 2016.
october 18: a young man died from wounds he sustained a few days ago near the grand mosque in bloudan in the damascus countryside, after being targeted by an unknown person on a motorcycle.
in homs, a fifty-year-old man from the alawite sect was killed and his son was injured by unknown gunmen while they were working on “basta” in the wadi al-dhahab neighborhood.
october 19: three people, including a man and his wife from the alawite sect, were killed as a result of gunfire by unknown assailants on a motorcycle in front of a store on bab al-duraib road in the city of homs.
in the damascus countryside, a young shiite man from the town of al-foua was killed after his house was stormed in al-bahdalia in the sayyida zeinab area.
october 20: an alawite citizen was killed near his home on al-habbal street in homs by unknown gunmen, before his body was transported to an unknown location by security forces.
october 21:
the body of an alawite taxi driver was found in the al-qarabis neighborhood in homs after he was kidnapped, and it is likely that the crime occurred on a sectarian basis.
in idlib, a druze man, a woman, and another woman were killed and five others were injured in an attack on a passenger bus near the village of kafr mars in jabal al-summaq.
october 22: in the western homs countryside, one of the wounded in the barbershop attack died on october 16.
in daraa, a woman in her forties was killed and her twenty-year-old daughter was injured by unknown gunmen in front of their house in the eastern town of al-ghariya.
october 24: a young druze man died from wounds he sustained on october 15 in the daf al-sakhr area of jaramana in the damascus countryside.
in the western hama countryside, a young alawite man was found murdered after being kidnapped in salhab, where he was forced to dig his grave before being executed in the field in an incident documented in a videotape.
october 25: a teacher and the wife of a detained officer were killed, and her relative from the alawite sect was injured, after a hand grenade was thrown at her house in the al-walid suburb of homs.
an alawite young man was also found killed by three bullets in the village of damsarkho in the latakia countryside.
in al-dimas housing in the damascus countryside, a sixty-year-old man from jableh, a retired assistant from the haganah forces, was killed in front of his house by unknown gunmen.
october 26: the body of a young man was found murdered in the forests near the latakia highway – tartous after being missing since october 16. he hails from the village of al-mureij in jabal al-akrad and lives in the palestinian raml neighborhood in latakia.
october 28: a young man was killed in the sukari neighborhood of aleppo on charges of collaborating with the former regime.
in the homs countryside, a shiite electrical engineer was killed while on his way to work at the jandar power station.
another shiite citizen, a father of three children, was also killed in ghazlaniya in the damascus countryside.
october 30: a young alawite man was killed in the al-hamdaniya neighborhood in aleppo, and another near the entrance to the city of al-shiha in hama, on the grounds that they had previously worked with regime forces.
in idlib, two former members of the “25” division were field-executed on the maarzaf–kaddoura road.
a person accused of working with air force intelligence and drug trafficking was also killed near the housing roundabout in the city of hama.
october 31: a person accused of collaborating with former regime forces was killed in the al-sukari neighborhood in aleppo, and he came from the town of deir jamal in the northern countryside of aleppo.
another young man was killed in the salah al-din neighborhood by unknown gunmen after midnight, amid a clear escalation in assassination and liquidation incidents across syria.
retaliatory and sectarian behavior in syria constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and human rights, targeting civilians and former military personnel on sectarian or political grounds. these violations include assassinations, kidnapping for ransom, and attacks on homes and property, and victims are often targeted because:
their sectarian affiliation (alawites, shiites, druze, christians).
their association with the regime or former armed forces.
their political or civil activity
these crimes reflect a lack of accountability and exacerbate societal divisions, threatening civil security and peace, and underscoring the need for immediate investigation and accountability to protect the basic rights of all syrians.
