A series of Israeli strikes hit the southeastern entrance of the Syrian coastal city of Lattakia early on October 17, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency.
The strikes were launched from the direction of the Mediterranean Sea, a military official said in a statement to the state-run news agency, adding that the attack wounded two civilians and caused damage to private properties close to the targeted area.
Videos posted to social media showed a series of large blasts and a fire at the targeted area, which is known as el-Yahudiyah.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a London-based monitoring group of unclear funding, said the Israeli strikes “targeted a weapons depot.”
Israel has escalated its attacks on Syria since the outbreak of the war in the Palestinian enclave of the Gaza Strip last October, targeting Syrian military sites as well as personnel of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Lebanon’s Hezbollah and other factions of the so-called Axis of Resistance.
After expanding operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon last month, the Israeli military announced that it will work to prevent the supply of any weapons from Iran to Hezbollah through the Lebanese-Syrian border.
Recent Israeli strikes on Syria claimed the lives of dozens of civilians. Still, the war-torn country has so far refrained from responding, likely to avoid a dangerous confrontation.

1. guarantee idf free access anytime, anyplace 24/7.
2. protect areas illegally held by occupiers (usa, isrl, trky).

that’s probably a bit unfair. it’s easy to criticise putin, but if it wasn’t for russian support syria would have gone under by now with the us/ zio isis proxies taking over the country and serving their interests, as a first step to attacking iran. there was a lot of unease in russia about the intervention in syria, and to some extent putin was going out on a limb there. he has to prioritise the interests of russia and the russian people. he cannot ……
go charging round the world like a white knight to confront the us/ zios. there are limits on what he can do. russia is already at war with the us and all its western vassals (30-40 countries?) over ukraine. they were confident they could destroy russia economically, and this was only prevented by putin’s astute management and leadership. is putin perfect, some kind of superman? no. but he is a cautious crisis manager. few others would have done so well. you have to see things in the round.

since the war in ukraine started russia can hardly supply its forces in syria and has to move through the only non pro isreali corridor between russia and syria. russia -> caspian sea -> iran -> iraq -> syria the moment the russians do something there they will run out of missiles fast and their base will be destroyed and russians killed by the “axis of eretz israel supporters” its just a numbers game.
