On February 7, Hezbollah launched more attacks from southern Lebanon and the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) responded with heavy strikes.
Hezbollah announced in a statement that its fighters shelled the Zabdin site and targeted a gathering of Israeli troops nearby using rockets. In another statement, the group said its fighters targeted military equipment in the site of Ramya with “suitable weapons”. Hebrew media didn’t report any losses.
The attacks were carried out “to support the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in support of their brave and honorable resistance,” Hezbollah noted its statements.
In response to the attacks, the IDF said that it struck a building used by Hezbollah in the town of Marwahin in southern Lebanon. It added that fighter jets overnight also struck another site belonging to the group in the town of Bani Haiyyan.
In addition, Lebanese media reported six Israeli airstrikes on the town of Khiam. One of the airstrikes killed a civilian and wounded two others.
Hezbollah also announced two of its fighters were killed “on the road to Jeruasle,” a term the group has been using to describe losses during the current confrontation with Israel.
The clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border first broke out after the start of the war in Gaza, with Hezbollah and its allies, including Palestinian armed factions, carrying out attacks in support of the Strip.
As of February 7, the clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border have resulted in six civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of nine IDF soldiers. On the Lebanese side, more than 200 have been killed. The toll includes 173 Hezbollah fighters, 14 of whom were killed in Syria, 28 Palestinians, a Lebanese soldier, and at least 25 civilians.

the us and israel have decided that escalation is their way forward. apparently they both think that increased attacks will yield results. it likely will, but not the results they want. what they have been able to do is show that talking or reasonable behavior does not work with them. violence is the only thing they understand or respect. the us fears being shown to be impotent, israel has gone too far to turn around.
