A series of heavy strikes hit the Ukrainian region of Kharkiv on the border with Russia, causing casualties and heavy material losses.
Around ten blasts were heard in the city and nearby areas with Ukrainian media reporting up to 15 Russian strikes within minutes.
The strikes reportedly targeted railway facilities and other transportation infrastructure used by Kiev forces in Kharkiv’s Kholodnohirskyi and Osnovianskyi as well as in the settlement of Lyubotin. A small airfield near the settlement of Korotich where Kiev forces train drone operators was also reportedly hit.

Ukrainian media said that S-300 anti-aircraft missiles modified to attack ground targets and guided bombs were used by the Russian military during the strikes.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has not yet confirmed or denied responsibility for the heavy strikes, which reportedly caused casualties.
The strikes came following two days of Ukrainian drone and rocket attacks on Belgorod and other Russian regions. In the early morning, a suicide drones launched by Kiev forces fell on a house in the settlement of Krasny Vostok, killing a woman.
Kharkhiv has been the source of most recent Ukrainian attacks on Belgorde and nearby regions. Earlier this month, the Russian military launched a limited ground operation in the region. So far, Kiev forces have lost over a dozen settlements and taken heavy losses.
