Kiev forces have reportedly suffered from more losses while attempting to advance towards Rabotino and nearby areas in the Zaphorohey direction.
On July 12, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that the 42nd Motorized Rifle Division defending this direction destroyed four Ukrainian main battle tanks, six infantry fighting vehicles and 30-40 troops during a recent battle.
Videos and photos from the direction confirmed that several American-made Bradley vehicles were destroyed, possibly more than the number reported by the ministry. One Bradley was also captured by Russian troops in an operational condition.

In addition, a Dutch-made YPR-765 armored personnel carrier was destroyed with an FPV suicide drone while transporting troops.
Meanwhile in Donetsk, the Russian military managed to advance in two directions. The Russian troops were able to capture a strongpoint of Kiev forces near Ugledar. They also managed to break through Ukrainian defenses in the direction of Liman, and entered Torskoe.
New videos from the battlefield also showed the destruction of two Ukrainian armored vehicles by Russian Ka-52 attack helicopters in the Vremensky area, a strike on a third vehicle near Kremennaya and an attack with an anti-tank guided missile against a fourth one in the direction of Bakhmut.
Furthermore, a photo from the direction of Kharkiv showed the remains of an American-made M109 self-propelled howitzer that was destroyed in a Russian strike.

Ukraine’s attempt to make quick gains before the NATO summit in Vilnius didn’t only fail, but also backfired. The losses of Kiev forces were not limited to troops and equipment as the Russian military was able to advance in at least two directions in Donetsk.
With this new defeat, Ukraine’s so-called spring counteroffensive appears to be nearing complete failure. Kiev’s backers, who paid tens of billions to finance the counteroffensive, will not likely be happy.

that’s not considered a serious advance i’m afraid. ukraine has lost many times more capable officers. nato has also lost many capable officers and intelligence operatives as a result of russian strikes. ukraine has failed to advance significantly in any direction. they have achieve no strategic gains and any tactical gains have always been reversed.

what they did capture resulted in heavy losses in taking the positions and heavy losses attempting to hold them and further losses attempting to push on from them. as always, russia is playing the attrition warfare game and winning. they are suffering few casualties (something even western military experts are agreeing upon) and inflicting heavy losses on ukraine.
