Hezbollah attacked on August 4 four sites of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), all of which are located along Lebanon’s border.
In separate statements, the group said that its fighters struck a surveillance system in the site of Ramia with “suitable weapons,” and shelled the sites of Berkat Richa, al-Manara and al-Malikiyah using rockets and artillery. No casualties were reported by Hebrew media.
The attacks were carried out “in support of the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and to support their valiant and honorable resistance,” Hezbollah noted.
In the early morning, Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets at northern Israel, targeting the settlement of Beit Hillel for the first time since the start of the ongoing confrontation with the IDF. The attack caused material losses only.
It’s worth noting that Hezbollah’s Military Media released on August 3 a video showing recent rocket and missile strikes on the northern Israeli settlements of Shtula and al-Manara.
The latest attacks came as Israel is preparing for a possible response by Hezbollah to the assassination of the group’s senior commander Fuad Shukr in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
The clashes between Israel and Hezbollah broke out after the start of the war in Gaza last October, with the group and its allies launching near-daily attacks in support of the Hamas Movement and other factions in the Strip.
So far, the confrontation has resulted in 25 civilian deaths in Israel and the occupied Golan as well as the deaths of at least 21 soldiers and security officers. On the Lebanese side, more than 600 people have been killed, including 370 fighters of Hezbollah and over 100 civilians.
