Hezbollah Attacks Israeli Intelligence Unit, Military Site (Video)

On March 21, Hezbollah announced that its fighters targeted an intelligence unit of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) that was situated at the settlement of Metula right on the border with Lebanon.

The unit’s personnel were all killed or wounded in the attack, the group said in a statement, noting that the attack was carried out “to support the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in support of their brave and honorable resistance.”

Hebrew media, citing the IDF, reported that four projectiles, including anti-tank missiles, were fired from southern Lebanon at Metula. There were no reports of casualties, but material damage was reportedly caused.

Later, Hezbollah announced that its fighters shelled the IDF’s al-Malikiyah border site with artillery. The group said that the attack was a response to the war in Gaza.

The IDF also said that its fighter jets struck a building used by Hezbollah in the southern Lebanese town of Kafr Kila. Another building used by the group in the town Dhayra was struck last night, the IDF added. Video footage of the strikes were released.

Lebanese media didn’t report any civilian casualties as a result of recent Israeli strikes. Hezbollah also didn’t report any losses.

The clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border first broke out after the start of the war in Gaza, with Hezbollah and its allies carrying out attacks in support of the Strip.

So far, the border clashes have resulted in seven civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of at least ten IDF soldiers and reservists. On the Lebanese side, more than 300 people have been killed, including 228 fighters of Hezbollah and at least 50 civilians.
