Hezbollah attacked on August 31 several sites of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), using drones, rockets and other weapons.
In separate statements, the group said it attacked the headquarters of the Valley Battalion in the Beit Hillel barracks with suicide drones, fired a barrage of rockets at the Pranet barracks and targeted the border sites of Berkat Richa and al-Marj with suitable weapons.
The attacks were carried out in support of the Palestinian people and resistance in the Gaza Strip as well as in response to recent Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon, the group noted.
Hebrew media didn’t report any casualties as a result of Hezbollah attacks. Still, the IDF retaliated by attacking southern Lebanon.
A building in the town of Markaba, where a group of Hezbollah operatives were spotted, was attacked by Israeli fighter jets, the military said in a statement, adding that the strike was directed by troops from the 869th Combat Intelligence Collection Unit. No casualties were reported by Lebanese media.
The clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border broke out after the start of the war on Gaza last October, with Hezbollah and its allies launching near-daily attacks against the IDF in support of the Strip.
So far, the clashes have resulted in 26 civilian deaths in Israel and the occupied Golan as well as the deaths of at least 20 soldiers and security officers. On the Lebanese side, more than 800 people have been killed, including 431 fighters of Hezbollah and over 100 civilians.
