Hezbollah carried out on July 27 two drone attacks against the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), targeting a deployment point and a border site.
In separate statements, the group said it launched suicide drones at a temporary deployment point of an IDF armored unit close to the Yaftah barracks as well as at surveillance equipment in the al-Manara site and a nearby gathering of Israeli troops.
The group announced in two other statements that its fighters struck surveillance equipment in the Misgav Am using “suitable weapons,” and shelled the al-Jardah post with rockets.
The attacks were carried out in support of the Palestinian people and resistance in the Gaza Strip as well as in response to recent Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon, Hezbollah noted in its statements.
Hebrew media reported that three Israeli soldiers were wounded in the attack on al-Manara site, including one critically and another seriously.
Meanwhile, the IDF said that it shot down one of the drones launched at the deployment point near Yaftah, but another one hit the area without causing any casualties.
In response to the attack, the IDF announced that it struck a cell of Hezbollah that was spotted at a weapons depot in the southern Lebanese town of Kafr Kila. The cell was identified by troops of the 869th Combat Intelligence Collection Unit entering the depot, and a short while later, a strike was carried out, the military said in a statement.
Since the outbreak of the Israeli war on Gaza last October, Hezbollah and its allies began launching near-daily attacks against the IDF in support of Hamas and other Palestinian armed factions in the Strip.
So far, the border clashes have resulted in 12 civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of at least 18 IDF soldiers and reservists. On the Lebanese side, more than 500 people have been killed, including 361 fighters of Hezbollah and over 100 civilians.
