Hezbollah announced on February 29 that it had fired a barrage of “Katyusha” rockets at the settlement of Eilon and a number of Falaq heavy rockets at the settlement of Goren in northern Israel.

The rocket attacks were carried out in response to the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and recent strikes on southern Lebanon, specifically a strike that claimed the lives of an elderly couple in the town of Kafra a day earlier, the group said in two separate statements.

Material damage was reported in Eilon and Goren. However, there were no casualties, according to Hebrew media.

Also during the day, Hezbollah announced in two separate statements that it had targeted gatherings of Israeli troops in the Jal al-Alam site and the Cobra Hill. In two more statements, the group said its fighters shelled the Ramtha site and targeted surveillance equipment of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in the site of Ruwaisat al-Alam.

These attacks were carried out “to support the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in support of their brave and honorable resistance,” according to Hezbollah’s statements.

Hezbollah’s Military Media also released video footage showing an attack with an anti-tank guided missile on a radar dome in the Mount Meron air traffic control base. The attack took place on February 27.

Separately, the IDF announced that it had fired an interceptor missile at a “suspicious aerial target” over the northern city of Haifa. The IDF said that the target appears to have been successfully downed. There were no reports of damage or injuries.

And in response to Hezbollah’s recent attacks, the IDF said in a statement that it struck targets of the group in southern Lebanon, including rocket launchers.

The targets in the town of Jabal Blat included a complex where Hezbollah fighters were gathered and several rocket launchers, the IDF said, adding that it also shelled rocket launch sites in southern Lebanon.

In a later statement, the IDF said that it carried out a strike against a building used by Hezbollah, where a fighter was spotted, in the town of Blida.Strikes were also carried out in the town of Mays al-Jabal to “remove a threat,” the IDF added.

Lebanese media didn’t report any civilian casualties. Hezbollah mourned one of its fighters, saying in a statement that he was killed “on the road to Jerusalem.” The fighter was allegedly killed in an Israeli drone strike that hit a truck near the western Syrian town of al-Qusayr, which is located near the border with Lebanon.

The clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border first broke out after the start of the war in Gaza, with Hezbollah and its allies carrying out attacks in support of the Strip.

So far, the clashes on the border have resulted in six civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of at least ten IDF soldiers and reservists. On the Lebanese side, more than 300 people have been killed, including 207 fighters of Hezbollah and at least 40 civilians.
