The situation in the Middle East is developing. The expected conflict between the resistance axis, primarily Hezbollah, and the Saudi-Israeli block is the current center of attention.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Iran wants to deploy its troops in Syria on a permanent basis “with the declared intent of using Syria as a base from which to destroy Israel” and threatened that if Tel Aviv fails to receive the international support, it is ready to act “alone.” “Iran will not get nuclear weapons. It will not turn Syria into a military base against Israel,” he said.

Deputy Chairman of Hezbollah’s Executive Council Sheikh Nabil Qaouq said his group is ready for any military scenario amid indications that Saudi Arabia is pushing the Israeli regime to launch a new military operation against Lebanon. He said “The resistance movement is prepared to confront anything. It is fully capable of securing victories and repelling any aggressor.” Hezbollah troops have been brought to the highest combat-readiness level, according to media reports.

Speaking to the Saudi newspaper Elaph, Israel’s military chief Gen Gadi Eisenkot called Iran the “biggest threat to the region” and said Israel is ready to share intelligence with “moderate” Arab states like Saudi Arabia in order to “deal with” Tehran.

The statement was followed on November 19 by an emergency meeting in Cairo between Saudi Arabia and other Arab foreign ministers, calling for a united front to counter Iran and Hezbollah. The emergency Arab foreign ministers’ meeting was convened at the request of Saudi Arabia with support from the UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait to discuss means of confronting Iran. In a declaration after the meeting, the Arab League accused Hezbollah of “supporting terrorism and extremist groups in Arab countries with advanced weapons and ballistic missiles.” It said Arab nations would provide details to the UN Security Council of Tehran’s violations through the arming of Houthi forces in Yemen. The Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit said that the Iranian missiles are a threat to all Arab capitals: “Iranian threats have gone beyond all limits and pushed the region into a dangerous abyss.”

Since intercepting a ballistic missile fired at Riyadh by Iran-affiliated Houthi rebels in Yemen, the Saudis punched up their anti-Iran rhetoric, even going as far as to say the missile was Iranian-made and declared the attack an act of war by the Iranians.

Reacting to the emergency meeting, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif said, “Unfortunately countries like the Saudi regime are pursuing divisions and creating differences, and because of this they don’t see any results other than divisions.”

As if to demonstrate the way the balance of power is going to look in the region, two separate summits on Syria are to be staged soon. With ISIS crushed and the so-called moderate opposition to Bashar al-Assad also in retreat, three key powers in the region – Russia, Iran and Turkey – will meet in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi on November 22 to discuss how to wind down hostilities and draw up a political settlement. On the same day but separately, as many as 30 groups opposed to Assad will gather in Riyadh for three days of talks aimed at forming a broad negotiating team before the UN peace talks resume in Geneva on November 28. Russia, which holds a military advantage in Syria, appears to want to focus on a solution drawn up with the regional guarantors, Iran and Turkey. Significantly, ministers discussed the possibility of Kurdish groups being invited to the congress – something to which the Turks were until recently opposed.

These two summits, pretty much mirroring the sides of the conflict concerning Syria’s fate, are the first step towards ultimately establishing a new balance of power in the region. With the Kurdish question still looming, the Middle East without ISIS is about to change considerably.

Jews make Shia’s, Sunnis, ISIS, Wahabiists etc.etc. dangerous, as they do with any pretend-Muslims.

When they finish with Muslims they will find another group to defame, such as Atheists who pose a THREAT to their GRAND DESIGN

It is what they do, for WEALTH and POWER

Oh yeah, it’s ALL Israeli’s fault….especially those 10th generation millenials that started all those genocidal conflicts with Arab nations, right? I’m not into supporting the Israeli way of taking lands over the last several decades, but if lebanon turns into a shootout, it’s because of those w/ the Hez, not the IDF. The IDF are not perfect or always the good guys, but as an American, I stand by them before I stand by Hamas or Hez as those groups have wiped out twenty times more people than the Israelis have….I saw Hez kill local law enforement in Mexico!! I know all about them killing business interests and other people in Venezuela! I don’t see the Mossad doing nearly half that much killing in the last ten years

“moderate” Arab state, Saudi Arabia. Even the Zionist are flinching at that one. What a absolute farce Id like to see what 30 groups are attending talks in Riyadh. Those under the Al Saud yolk and Israel/USA I presume.

ALberto

When Saudi Arabia (soon to be Arabia) is your only friend you are in a world of hurt. Nothingyahoo has nothing but the Western press and the Saudi Royals. US has so far steered clear of confronting Russia directly. Iran does not need nuclear weapons as it has a mutual defense treaty with Syria, Iraq and Russia. This saber rattling is getting old.

Starlight

Iran has no mutual defence treaty with anyone. Russia won’t even sell Iran s400 air defense systems (Russia voted at the UN with the UK and USA to sanction weapon supplies to Iran- which Russia used as an excuse for years to refuse to provide the s300 system Iran had already paid for- and only in the last year has Russia given Iran the wholly outdated s300 missiles). But Russia has sold s400 air defense systems to Turkey, the same Turkey that only a few months ago set a trap for a Russia jet and blasted it out of the sky, murdering the pilots.

Iran has zero useful support from Syria. Only the shia part of Iraq supports Iran- in a war the West would immediately start up sectarian conflict in Iraq between the sunnis and shia if Iraq showed any sign of trying to assist Iran.

Iran is literally alone- ‘defended’ by its tens of thousands of ground-to-ground missiles that can destroy near by cities in KSA and Israel. Regional powers won’t take on Iran for this reason. Unless they have the direct support of the West’s military- and that is what the palace coup plotters in KSA have been promised. But the palace coup removed the Saudis who did not want to see KSA ruined in the coming war.

ALberto

Starlight, Your theories will be tested. Soon! Very soon! If US does not enter theater of combat I believe that the Saudi backed ISIS fighters will not prevail. I do not believe that Israel itself will be targeted. But IDF will finally have to admit that militarily they are boxed in. Hezbollah is looking like the leaders of Lebanon. 64 in Tel Aviv partly cloudy. But you know that. PEACE

Starlight

Hezbollah wins against the zionist wahhabi alliance ONLY if the West chooses not to overtly help their depraved murderous racist twins. But Israel has just held its biggest aerial wargames with the direct participation of the Vatican catholic bloc, and India.

Lebanon cannot survive against a Libya/Iraq/Afghanistan/Sebia style execution by the West. It can survive a Yemen/Syria/Ukraine style proxy war.

America, Britain, France and Germany desire to be allowed to unleash full military might against Lebanon and shortly afterwards Iran. All that stops this is the current sentiments held by the populations of these nations. And Lebanon is complicated by its significant christian population- something neither Israel not KSA cares about of course, but an issue to the french and the germans.

But their palace coup is KSA is in preparation for a major Middle East war- where Israel will be allowed to holocaust Lebanon and Gaza, and the West will holocaust Iran with the greatest aerial bombardment yet seen in Human History. While KSA has no real armed forces of its own (what it does have is a toy army for its princes- no use in real fighting), KSA uses mercenary forces – so the air war in Yemen, for instance, is 100% British RAF operating under the ‘veneer’ of Saudi colours.

In earlier times, we could assume the evil plans of Israel and its partner KSA would fizzle out. Not today.

Matt Lazarus

Even the British mercenaries cannot defeat Yemenis!

Two summits, mirroring the sides of the conflict ?

Wrong. The socalled opposition, a fractured internally fighting hodgepod of mutually hostile groups, warlords, without any cohesive political view, is not the second side of the mirror.

The SDF, much more powerful, controlling more lands and people, having more military and having a cohesive and inclusive political view, are the second side of the mirror. The “opposition” is no more then a third rate sideshow.

deancassady

It is clear to all informed, non-partisan, observers, who the ‘good guys’ are and who the ‘bad guys’ are, when the two nations architecting the next conflict, as well as the last conflict, are blatantly racist political entities with plans to rule over human kind through a program of systemic hatred, and deception by way of wholesale manipulation of the media. If you are from ‘the west’, then your so-called ‘news’ agencies are thinly veiled propaganda agencies, enabling this program. The conflict in Syria, like so many other MENA (Middle East and North African) nations, was organized and paid for by ‘the west’ and their dirty regional allies. Hezbollah is much, much less a terrorist organization than the governments of these west’s regional allies. Iran is a socialist nation of a civilization that has contiguously existed for over 5000 years. They have been ostracized by ‘the west’ at the behest of the regional ally who has a culture of instilling neurotic fear in their children, as part of their program of enslavement of their people, to enable them to hate everybody else, thus, they fear EVERYTHING that they can’t control, and hate everything they fear. I sometimes feel that the fate of humanity lies with the success or failure of Hezbollah in the coming conflict with the Zio-Wahabi terrorists. Hezbollah should recruit worldwide in “the West”, as the takeover by global nationalists has disenfranchised entire generations across most cultural traditions, especially those cultural traditions believing in the universality and intrinsic equality among humans, this is the opposite of the Zio-Wahabis, who believe in the subjugation of all humankind (they will STILL be neurotic with the fear that their parents put upon them from birth!) War has been conducted against the rest of us, in most cases, for our entire lives. It is time to fight back. I send thanks and respect to Hezbollah, Iran, and the Syrians who have fought to preserve their civilization (in any case, it should be Syrians alone, only Syrians, who decide Syrian affairs!)

I don’t believe in the ultimate benefit of any of the religions, but as long as yours does not call for my subjugation, and/or forced conversion to something I will never believe in, I hope for your victory.

Vince Dhimos

Yes, friend. A lot hinges on Hezbollah. That is why the US demonizes it.

Gregory Casey

I agree with every word you have written. The real danger to peace and to civilized conduct of International Affairs is the dangerously paranoid machinations engaged in by both BiBi and his ultra-Zionists and the Wahabi-Sunni psychos of Riyadh. The fact that this axis of paranoid delusion is armed and supported by both America and UK/France/Nato with Erdogan slimily inserting himself when it suits him as opposed to suiting the interests of Turkey and its peoples, should frighten the shxt out of all of us and make us in the “West” wake up and force our Governments and media to immediately stop this slide towards all-out war in the Middle-East with inevitable adverse consequences for all of us.

Hegel said “The only History lesson kept by Humans is none lesson” =================================================== http://www.voltairenet.org/article190171.html Seventy years of harassing political establishment and people of Europe

by Andrey Fomin

Contrary to appearances, the decision of the United States to investigate a possible Russian aid to anti-European parties is not intended to protect Europeans from foreign interference. This is quite the opposite. For 70 years, Washington controls the West European politics prohibiting all forms of genuine democracy.

According to a “sensational” article by The Telegraph, the US director of National Intelligence was recently instructed by Congress to “conduct a major review into Russian clandestine funding of European parties over the last decade.” [1] This disclosure —a classic “controlled leak”— is intended to warn disobedient yet popular political entities across Europe to scale back their ambitions to rebalance the roles and weight of their nation states within the European Union. Hungary’s Jobbik, Greece’s Golden Dawn, Italy’s Lega Nord, and France’s Front National are explicitly included in the US “warning list,” while other unnamed “parties” in Austria, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands are being advised that they are “under a US security probe.” Even the new British Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn, is suspected of flirting with the Russians. So, according to the sponsor of The Telegraph’s story, any European politician who dares to question NATO’s eastward expansion, the policy of anti-Russian sanctions, or the current European stance on the Ukrainian conflict is essentially a witting or unwitting tool of “Russia’s hybrid warfare.”

Well, that would be funny if it weren’t so dangerous. In fact, any impartial observer would pose some simple questions: Why the hell do US intelligence agencies care about challenges to Europe’s internal security? Aren’t they the same agents who finance, recruit, and control countless political organizations, individuals, and media outlets on the European continent? Why are they so brazenly revealing their dominion over Europe?

A politically correct challenger would argue that the United States saved Europe from the “Communist threat” after the end of WWII, facilitated its speedy economic recovery, and is still safeguarding the continent under its nuclear umbrella. Perhaps. But a review of the historical background should not begin with the Marshall Plan. First of all, that was launched in April 1948. Since the Nazis capitulated in May 1945, a misinformed reader might deduce that the United States had been drafting a massive investment program for Europe for as long as three years, and … he would be wrong. At the Second “Octagon” Quebec Conference in September 1944, President Roosevelt and US Treasury Secretary Henry Morgenthau Jr. submitted to the British PM Winston Churchill their Post-Surrender Program for Germany [2]. That strictly confidential document envisaged the partition and complete deindustrialization of the German state. According to the plan, Germany was to be divided into two independent states. Its epicenters of mining and industry, including the Saar Protectorate, the Ruhr Valley, and Upper Silesia were to be internationalized or annexed by France and Poland. Following are a few excerpts:

• The [US] military forces upon entry into [German] industrial areas shall destroy all plants and equipment which cannot be removed immediately.

• No longer than 6 months after the cessation of hostilities, all industrial plants and equipment not destroyed by military action shall either be completely dismantled and removed from the area or completely destroyed.

• All people within the area should be made to understand that this area will not again be allowed to become an industrial area. Accordingly, all people and their families within the area having special skills or technical training should be encouraged to migrate permanently from the area and should be as widely dispersed as possible.

• All German radio stations and newspapers, magazines, weeklies, etc. shall be discontinued until adequate controls are established and an appropriate program formulated.

That was the original postwar recovery program for Germany, known as the Morgenthau Plan. The notorious Joint Chiefs of Staff Directive 1067 (JCS 1067) addressed to the Commander-in-Chief of U.S. Occupation Forces in Germany, which was officially issued in April 1945, was fully in line with that document [3].

Partition of Germany according to Morgenthau Plan, 1944

The Morgenthau Plan very quickly proved to be a strategic mistake. The United States underestimated the ideological and cultural impact the Soviets would have on European societies. Left to their own judgment, American strategists failed to understand the attraction that a socialist system held for the majority of the population of the liberated nations. A vast spectrum of pro-socialist and pro-communist politicians began winning democratic elections and gaining political influence not only in Eastern Europe, but also in Greece, Italy, France, and other European states (Palmiro Togliatti and Maurice Thorez are just a few who could be named here). Thus Washington came to understand that its forced de-industrialization of Europe could result in Soviet-style reindustrialization and eventual Russian dominance of the continent… Therefore the US had to promptly replace the Morgenthau Plan with one named after Secretary of State George Marshall… Over the course of four years it provided Europe with $12 billion USD in credits, donations, leases, etc., for the purpose of buying … American machinery and other goods. Although the plan undoubtedly revived the economies of Europe, its biggest positive effect was on … the US economy itself! Simultaneously a wave of political repression was launched throughout Europe, most notably in Germany.

The media has largely forgotten about a Soviet initiative, proposed in 1950, to withdraw from the GDR and to reunify a neutral, non-aligned, demilitarized Germany within one year of the conclusion of a peace treaty. As a matter of fact, the resolution adopted at the Prague meeting of the foreign ministers of the Soviet Bloc on Oct. 21, 1950 proposed the establishment of an all-German Constituent Council, with equal representation from East and West Germany to prepare for the formation of an “all-German, sovereign, democratic, and peace-loving provisional government.” Needless to say, the US government and West German administration in Bonn strongly opposed the initiative [4]. While a plebiscite on the issue “Are you against the remilitarization of Germany and in favor of the conclusion of a Peace Treaty in 1951?” was announced in both halves of the divided state, that referendum was held and officially acknowledged only in East Germany (with 96% voting “yes”).vtek The authorities in US-controlled West Germany failed to respond in a truly democratic manner. They refused to recognize the preliminary results of the referendum that had been held since February 1951 (of the 6.2 million federal citizens who had taken part by June 1951, 94.4% also voted “yes”) [5] and introduced the draconian cautious Criminal Law Amendment Act (the 1951 Blitzgesetz) on July 11. According to that legislation, anyone guilty of importing prohibited literature, criticizing the government, or having unreported contacts with representatives of the GDR, etc. was to be prosecuted for “state treason,” which was punishable by 5 to 15 years in prison. Consequently, between 1951 and 1968, 200,000 charges were brought against 500,000 members of the Communist Party and other left-wing groups in Germany under this law. Ten thousand people were sent to prison, and most of those who were “cleared” of charges never resumed their political activities. Additional legal amendments in 1953 actually abolished the right to freely hold gatherings and demonstrations, and in 1956 the Communist Party of Germany was banned.

More details can be found in Daniel Burkholz’s 2012 documentary “Verboten – Verfolgt – Vergessen” (Forbidden-Followed-Forgotten. Half a Million Public Enemies), which is surprisingly unavailable on YouTube.

The political repression that occurred in Germany from the 1950s to the 1980s, compared to similar events in other European countries during the same period, is a very taboo topic. Operation Gladio in Italy, the crimes of the regime of the Black Colonels in Greece, and the controversial assassinations of realistic European politicians who openly advocated for historical compromise with the Soviet bloc – such as Italian PM Aldo Moro (1978) and Swedish PM Olof Palme (1986) – all received far more media attention. The revelations made by a former correspondent for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Udo Ulfkotte, in his book Gekaufte Journalisten (“Purchased Journalists”) about the mechanism of media control in Germany (remember the Morgenthau Plan?) represent only the tip of the iceberg.

JPEG – 45.8 kb

The almost complete lack of reaction seen in Berlin after Edward Snowden’s disclosure of the blanket electronic espionage routinely conducted against German leaders by the NSA means that in reality, Germany has acknowledged its loss of sovereignty over its own country and thus has nothing to lose.

So, after taking all these facts into account and rereading the article in The Telegraph, are you still so sure that the United States is truly the guardian of Europe’s sovereignty? Is it not more likely that by using the alleged “Russian threat” to control and harass the political establishment and civil society in Europe, Washington is making headway toward a simple and primitive goal – that of merely keeping its sheep within the fold?

Have you ever visited Iran? Religion aside, it’s not in least like any Arab country. Tehran has cosmopolitan, almost European flavor. Well-educated population (Saudis would never take risk of educating their people), elections, functioning government, discipline military, lots of advanced technology which is operated by Iranians (not imported labor or mercenaries, as in Saudi Arabia), a long literary and cultural history (Saudi Arabia has no literature at all to speak of).

Vince Dhimos

Your expertise is too dazzling for me. I will concede the argument to you. Iranians are Arabs, Turks are Arabs, Texans are Arabs. Have I left anyone out?

Unfortunately the christian democratic west has become weak and indecisive. Israel is the only democratic entity with strength to contain and defeat the medieval terrorist forces of the middle east

Matt Lazarus

Most medieval regime of all in Middle East is the Saudi regime, which is a relic of the Dark Ages. Does that mean Israel should launch war against Saudis? It would be great if they did. They would be doing all of humanity an enormous service. Israelis could probably take over whole of Saudi Arabia in Two Day War!

Domenic Patrone

Hezbollah is only about 50% ready; not all are present, right ?? Most of the Israeli threat will come from the sky. They don’t want to be trapped in a ground war where alot of casualites mount up.

Matt Lazarus

Seriously doubt Israelis will send ground forces–at least brigade or division-strength–into Lebanon again. Like US, Israelis are averse to casualties. Maybe another aerial campaign, but don’t think world opinion will be with them on this one. In event of an attack on Lebanon, Hezbollah would deploy improved weaponry against Israeli bases. On top of that, Hariri is also Saudis’ man in Lebanon and Israel is now pals with Saudis–just can’t see Israel bombing resort hotels in Beirut to prove how tough they are to Saudis or rest of the world.

Vince Dhimos

Israel needs to provide evidence that Iran wants to use Syria as a base to destroy Israel. Where’s the evidence?

Goran Grubić HardyVeles

Hmm? “needs” ? By what authority? Who is forcing Israel to provide evidence? Who would leave Israel’s side if they are wrong? And who will support them (flip the side) if they prove to be right? No one would leave them, no one would join them: so what the *uck you are talking about?*

* this is in the Newsroom manner, I had no hostile intentions toward you :) just like the Newsroom clips :)

Nigel Maund

MBS is absolutely desperate and so are the Israeli’s. They’ve lost their engineered wars in the Middle East and are desperately seeking a reason to double down on their failed strategy, thinking that their military might, at least on paper, is the answer to all problems. However, even the most biased reader will see that these two countries now face serious internal problems and, moreover, are seen as International Pariah’s and merchants of war, destruction and death. The world, let alone the Middlle East, has had enough of both of them!

Matt Lazarus

Saudi Arabia has no military capability. Saudi regime has never educated its own people as it does not trust them or an educated citizenry. Saudi military is dysfunctional and incapable of using the hundreds of billions of dollars worth of advanced US/UK/German military hardware it has bought. Saudi army has been fighting in Yemen for 3 years and gotten nowhere–except for more of the senseless slaughter Saudis have sponsored throughout Mideast and rest of the world. Saudi royal family should be removed from power–they are a brutal, barbaric relic of the Dark Ages.

At the UNO – US inability to admit reality

by Thierry Meyssan

While Presidents Putin and Trump continue to make progress on the question of Syria, the United States senior civil servants in service at the UNO have locked into a round of arm-wrestling with Russia. Refusing to investigate a crime that they have already tried a priori, they provoked not one, but four vetos at the Security Council. For Thierry Meyssan, the schizophrenic behaviour of the United States on the international stage is a demonstration of the divisions within the Trump administration and the decline of US imperialism.

Rehashing the posturing of her long-departed predecessor, Adlai Stevenson during the Cuban missile crisis, Nikki Haley denounced the incident at Khan Shaykhun by displaying a number of terrible photographs. However, the UNO-OPCW Joint Investigative Mechanism refused to authenticate these alleged elements of « proof ». We note the hawk Jeffrey Feltman sitting by the ambassador’s side.

Decidedly, very little has changed since 11 September 2001. The United States continue to manipulate international public opinion and the tools of the United Nations, no doubt for different reasons, but still with the same contempt for the truth.

In 2001, the representatives of the United States and the United Kingdom, John Negroponte and Stewart Eldon, assured that their two countries had just attacked Afghanistan in legitimate defence after the attacks committed in New York and Washington [1]. The Secretary of State, Colin Powell, promised to hand the Security Council a complete dossier presenting proof of Afghan responsibility. 16 years later, this document has still not been seen.

Secretary of State Colin Powell lying to the Security Council. He is waving around what he claimed was a vial of anthrax capable of killing the entire population of New York, and accused Iraq of having prepared more with which to attack the United States. Washington has never apologised for this masquerade.

In 2003, the same Colin Powell came to explain to the Security Council, during a speech which was relayed by the televisions of the whole world, that Iraq was also implicated in the attacks of 11 September, and that it was preparing new acts of aggression against the United States by means of weapons of mass destruction [2]. However, once he had retired from his functions in the US government, General Powell admitted on a TV channel in his own country that the many accusations in his speech were all false [3]. 14 years after this speech, we are still waiting for the United States to apologise to the Security Council.

Everyone has forgotten the US accusations concerning the responsibility of President Saddam Hussein in the attacks of 9/11 – since then, Washington has attributed these same attacks to Saudi Arabia, and again, today, to Iran, but without ever providing the proof for any of these four cases). However, we do remember the debate, which lasted for months, about weapons of mass destruction. At the time, the United Nations Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission (UNMOVIC) was unable to find the slightest trace of these weapons. A conflict developed between Hans Blix, the Swedish director of UNMOVIC and, first, the United States, then the UNO, and finally, the whole of the Western world. Washington claimed that Mr. Blix had not found the weapons because he was a negligent worker, while Blix himself assured that Iraq had never possessed the capacity to build such weapons. But whatever, the United States bombed Baghdad, invaded Iraq, overthrew President Saddam Hussein and hanged him, occupied his country and plundered it.

US methods after 2001 were totally different from any that had preceded them. In 1991, President Bush the Father had made certain that he had international law on his side before he attacked Iraq, having pushed President Saddam Hussein to invade Kuwait and to dig in. He had thus obtained the support of almost all the nations in the world. On the contrary, in 2003, Bush the Son settled for lying and then lying some more. Many States distanced themselves from Washington, and we saw the greatest pacifist demonstrations in History, from Paris to Sydney, from Beijing to Mexico.

In 2012, the UN Department of Political Affairs drew up a project for the total and unconditional surrender of Syria [4]. Its director, US citizen Jeffrey Feltman, ex-Under-Secretary of State for Hillary Clinton, used all the means at his disposal to create the greatest coalition in History and accuse Syria of all manner of crimes, none of which were ever proven.

If the States which possess the Feltman document have decided not to publish it, their intention is simply to preserve the United Nations. It is indeed inacceptable that the might and means of the UNO were used to promote war, when the institution was created in order to preserve peace. Since I am not held to the same obligations as a State, I have published a detailed study of this ignoble document in “Right Before Our Eyes” [5].

In 2017, the UNO-OPCW Joint Investigative Mechanism, created at the request of Syria in order to investigate the use of chemical weapons on its territory, became the object of the same struggle which had earlier opposed Hans Blix to Washington. Except that this time, the fronts were reversed. In 2003, the UNO was defending peace. This is no longer the case, since Jeffrey Feltman was reappointed and is still the number 2 of the UNO. This time it’s Russia which is opposing the pro-US international civil servants in the name of the Charter.

Although the work of the Joint Investigative Mechanism was debated in normal fashion during its first period – from September 2015 to May 2017 – the discussions risked dichotomy when Guatemalan Edmond Mulet nominated the Argentine Virginia Gamba as its director; a nomination which may be imputed to the new Secretary General of the UNO, Portuguese António Guterres.

The Joint Investigative Mechanism mobilises international civil servants from the UNO and the OPCW. This prestigious international organisation received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2013, in particular for its work of supervision on the destruction of Syrian chemical weapons by the United States and Russia. However, its director, Turkish citizen Ahmet Üzümcü, has since moved on. In June 2015, he was invited to Telfs Buchen (Austria) for the meeting of the Bilderberg Group, the NATO club.

In December 2015, Ahmet Üzümcü was decorated with the Légion d’honneur by the French Minister for Foreign Affairs, Laurent Fabius, the man for whom President el-Assad « has no right to be alive » and al-Qaïda were « doing a good job ».

The question was all the more serious in that in 2003, the dispute opposed, on one hand Hans Blix, and on the other, the United States, who were threatening to intervene against Iraq if the UNO could prove the existence of weapons of mass destruction. In 2017, however, the dispute was between Russia and Edmond Mulet, who may be have been able, a posteriori, to validate US intervention against Syria. Indeed, Washington had already made their minds up, considering Syria as being responsible for a sarin gas attack in Khan Shaykhun, and had already bombed the old air base at Cheyrat [6].

In the event that the Joint Investigative Mechanism should depart in whatever way from Washington’s script, the United States would be obliged to apologise to and indemnify Syria. The pro-US international civil servants therefore considered that their mission was to arrive at the conclusion that Syria had bombed its own population with sarin gas which it had hidden illegally on the air base at Cheyrat.

As from the month of October, the rhetoric began to escalate between certain UNO and Russian civil servants. Contrary to what the Western Press alleged, the disagreement had nothing to do with the conclusions of the Joint Investigative Mechanism, but exclusively with its methods – Moscow refused in advance any conclusion obtained by methods which did not conform with the international principles established in the framework of the Chemical Weapons Convention and the OPCW [7].

Sarin gas is a neurotoxic agent which is extremely lethal for humans. There are variations of this product, chlorosarin and cyclosarin, and an even more dangerous version, VX gas. All these products are absorbed by the skin and pass directly into the blood. They degrade within a few weeks or a few months in the environment, but not without consequences for the animals which may enter into contact with them. When they penetrate the soil, in the absence of oxygen and light, they may be conserved for a long time.

It is enough to look at the photographs of the attack on Khan Shaykhun, which show people taking samples a few hours later without wearing protective suits to cover their skin – to understand immediately that if gas had in fact been used, it could not have been sarin gas or one of its derivatives. For more details, we may consult the study by Professor Theodore Postol of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), in which he debunks, one by one, the arguments of the so-called “experts” from the CIA [8].

In fact, contrary to the principles of the Chemical Weapons Convention, the Investigative Mechanism did not visit the site to take samples, to analyse them, and identify the gas used, if indeed any gas had been used.

Questioned on this subject in May and June 2017 by Russia, the OPCW declared that they had studied the security conditions necessary for such a journey before concluding that it was unnecessary since, according to them, « The use of sarin is not in doubt ».

The Investigative Mechanism did, however, visit the air base in Shayrat where, according to Washington, the sarin gas had been illegally stored and loaded onto the bombers. But then, despite the insistence of Russia, they refused to take samples.

The Investigative Mechanism also refused to study the revelations by Syria concerning the supply of gas to the jihadists by US and British companies Federal Laboratories, NonLethal Technologies, and Chemring Defence UK [9].

The United States and their allies themselves wrote into their project for resolution, presented on 16 November, the requirement for international Civil servants to carry out their investigations in a « manner appropriate to the realisation of their mandate » [10].

Russia rejected the report by the Investigative Mechanism in view of its amateurism, and refused on three occasions to accept reappointment for its mandate. It opposed its veto on 24 October [11], and on 16 [12] and 17 November, as it had done on 12 April [13] when the United States and France [14] attempted to condemn Syria for this alleged sarin gas attack. These were the 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th times that it used its veto on the Syrian question.

We do not know why Washington presented, or had presented by proxy, the same assertion to the Security Council on four different occasions from four different angles. These stammering attempts had already been seen at the start of the war against Syria, on 4 October 2011, 4 February and 19 July 2012, when France and the United States attempted to have Syria condemned by the Council for what they called the repression of the Syrian spring. At that time, Russia affirmed on the contrary that this was not a case of civil war, but of external aggression. Each time, the Westerners retorted that they would « convince » their Russian partner.

It is interesting to observe that the Western ‘doxa’ pretends that the war in Syria began with a democratic revolution which went wrong and was finally recuperated by jihadist forces. But, contrary to what was alleged, there is no proof of the slightest demonstration in favour of democracy in 2011-2012 in Syria. All the videos published at the time were either in favour of President el-Assad, or against the Syrian Arab Republic, never for democracy. Not one video shows pro-democracy slogans or posters. All the videos of the alleged « revolutionary demonstrations » from this period were shot on Friday evenings as the Sunni mosques emptied out, never on another day, and never at meeting places other than Sunni mosques.

It is true that in certain videos, we can hear phrases which contain the word « freedom ». If we listen carefully, we notice that the demonstrators are not calling for « Freedom » in the Western sense of the word, but for the « Freedom to apply charia law ». If you can find a traceable document of a demonstration of more than 50 people which contradicts my statement, please send it to me and I will not fail to print it.

In order to avoid the occasion for his opposition to accuse him of having gone to collect new orders from KGBist Vladimir Putin, President Trump did not take a private interview with him – but here the two men demonstrate their compatibility (Đà Nẵng, 11 November 2017).

We could interpret the stubborn US manipulation of facts as a sign that the Trump administration is aligning itself with the policies of the previous four mandates. But this hypothesis is countered by the signature of a secret Memorandum in Amman, on 8 November, between Jordan [15], Russia, and the United States, and by the Joint Declaration by Presidents Putin and Trump, on 11 November, in Đà Nẵng, on the sidelines of the APEC summit [16].

The first document has not been published, but we know via certain indiscretions that it does not take into account the Israëli demand for the creation of a neutral zone on Syrian territory, not beyond the Israëli frontier, but 60 kilometres beyond the 1967 cease-fire line. Never missing an occasion to add fuel to the flames, the British government reacted by publishing, by the BBC, satellite photographs of the Iranian military base of El-Kiswah (45 kilometres beyond the cease-fire line) [17]. As expected, Israëli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu immediately rejected the agreement between the major powers and announced that he reserved the right of Israël to engage in military intervention in Syria in order to preserve its security [18] – this comment constitutes a threat and as such, is a violation of the Charter of the United Nations. In fact, everyone is aware that for the last seven years, the pretext of weapons for Lebanon is still working. As an example, on 1 November, Tsahal illegally bombed an industrial zone in Hassiye, pretending that it was destroying weapons destined for Hezbollah. In reality, the target was a copper factory, indispensable for restoring the distribution of electricity in the country [19].

The Declaration of Đà Nẵng includes some notable advances. It establishes, for the first time, that all Syrians will be able to participate in the next Presidential election. In fact, until now, exiled Syrians have been forbidden to vote by the members of the international Coalition, in violation of the Vienna Convention. As for the « National Coalition for Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces », it has boycotted the elections because that instance was dominated by the Muslim Brotherhood, according to whom « The Coran is our Law », and there is no place for elections in an Islamist régime.

The contrast is startling between the progress of Russo-US negotiations concerning Syria on the one hand, and on the other, the bullheadedness of the same United States in denying the facts before the Security Council.

It is interesting to note the embarrassment of the European Press – faced with the work of Presidents Putin and Trump as well as the infantile mulishness of the US delegation at the Security Council. Almost no organ of the media mentions the Amman Memorandum, and they all commented the Joint Declaration before it was published, based on a simple note from the White House. As for Ambassador Nikki Haley’s tantrums at the Security Council, they unanimously noted that the two major powers had reached no agreement, and ignored the Russian arguments which had nonetheless been exhaustively explained by Moscow.

We are obliged to note that if President Trump is attempting to pay off the imperialist policies of his predecessors, the pro-US international civil servants from the UNO are incapable of adapting to the real world. After 16 years of systematic lies, they can no longer think in terms of fact, but only in thrall to their fantasies. They are no longer able to avoid taking their desires for realities. This behaviour is characteristic of Empires in decline.

Great to see Iran/Syria and Russia’s victory over the 3 axis of evil ; U$A/Israhell and U$A! Hezbollah is such an awesome fighting force, which sends a clear message to Israhell that, They cannot sleep easily! Keep frightening IDF.

Moot point by Israel. with or without Iran in Syria. It has and has always been a threat. Syria always had WMDs and have not used it against Israel. I doubt Israel really believes that the status quo would change.

Israel should stick to their side of the fence consolidate their gains. Specifically fortifying gains in the Golan.
