Hezbollah and the Hamas Movement launched more attacks against Israel from southern Lebanon on October 19, in a sign that the front will remain open as long as the war in the Gaza Strip is ongoing.
In two separate statements, Hezbollah said that its fighters fired anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM) at the Israeli Al-Manara site and targeted the sites of Jal al-Alam, al-Bahri, Zarit, Shumira barracks and a watchtower in Habd al-Bustan with direct fire. All these positions are located within the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms.
The group’s Military Media also released video footage from an attack that targeted the Jal al-Alam site, which serves as a signal intelligence and electronic warfare base for the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), the previous day. Most of the site’s equipment was destroyed in the attack.
Separately, the Hamas Movement announced that its fighters fired a salvo of 30 rockets from southern Lebanon at Israeli settlements in the Western Galilee, including Nahariya and Shlomi. The IDF Iron Dome air defense system intercepted at least one rocket. An impact was reported in the settlement of Kiryat Shmona, wounding three Israelis.

The IDF said that it had responded to the attacks from southern Lebanon with artillery fire, without providing any further details.
Hezbollah and its allies, including Hamas Movement and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, have fired dozens of rockets and ATGMs from southern Lebanon over the past week. Clashes on the front broke out just a day after the October 7 surprise attack from the Gaza Strip.
The IDF tost five soldiers and an Israeli civilian was killed in recent attacks on the Lebanon Front. Heavy material losses were also reported.
According to the Lebanese Al-Mayadeen TV, at least ten Merkava main battle tanks were destroyed or damaged by Hezbollah in recent attacks. The tanks, most of which were of the more advanced Mark IV version and equipped with Trophy active protection systems, were all targeted with Russian-made Kornet anti-tank guided missiles.
Clashes on the Lebanon front will likely heat up in coming days, especially if the IDF launches its planned invasion into Gaza. The United States, United Kingdom and several European countries have already called on their citizens to leave Lebanon. This might be a sign that Israel is planning to step up attacks on the country.

interesting to see how red hot bellicose iran’s lines in the sand were, and how israel has crossed each one, the last one being a pending incursion into the gaza strip. how does the muslim world save face? the whole muslim world is too divided and compromised for a meaningful war effort. imo they will be doomed after this war. they will lose face (if they had any left)

the israelis saw that they can do this without russian and iranian intervention now they think they can do it to gaza and later the west bank. then syria ,the sinai southern lebanon and iraq everything between the nile and the euphrates has to be ethnically cleansed so israelis can settle the land. kurdistan will be created as a buffer state to protect their north and eastern flank.
greater azerbaijan will be their ally annexing armenia and the syunik province it will serve for israel as a silk road corridor allowing them to play off west and east and reap the riches from indian and chinse trade. turkey will be divided loosing all kurdish provinces and will loose antakya to israeli colonizers. this is their goal and the yinon plan is already partly implemented in syria and iraq to some extend.
