On May 21, Hezbollah held a public military exercise in southern Lebanon, just a few kilometers away from the front with Israel.
The exercise, which was attended by local and international media, was held at a camp near the Tourist Landmark of the Resistance in the town of Mleeta. Hezbollah fighters conducted tactical maneuvers during the small-scale exercise and later showcased heavy weapons, including multiple rocket launchers, anti-aircraft guns and anti-tank rocket-propelled grenades.
A day earlier, Hezbollah’s media relations official, Muhammad Afif, said that the “limited” military exercise will showcase a “simple example” of the group’s capabilities.
The exercise was organized to celebrate the Resistance and Liberation Day, a holiday marking the Israeli withdrawal from occupied territory in southern Lebanon, as well as to send a message to Israel, Afif explained.
Last month, Israel carried out several strikes on southern Lebanon after accusing the Palestinian Hamas Movement, a close ally of Hezbollah, of launching rockets from the region. This was the first such Israeli attack against Lebanon since 2021. Hezbollah refrained from responding, likely because the strikes didn’t result in any material or human losses.
Hezbollah’s military exercise was likely also meant as a message to the group’s opponents inside Lebanon, who are trying to use the country’s political and economic crisis to pressure the group under directions from the United States.

many lebanese peoples dislike both syria and israel. hezbollah, in the past, fought against assad regime and against the maronite militias. maronite militias were supported by israel, that’s good. assad also supported maronites against plo in the past, but later he started supporting plo and pflp against them because he was a commie.
the europeans and the africans should support israel in order to stop the radicalism of the islamic religion. this is necessary even if we like it or not.
hezbollah and houthis are good and legit groups, sadrists also, however, they are radical to an extent. that’s the bad case. another problem is that hezbollah support bosnia and azerbaijan and the kashimiri extremists plus some radical palestinian groups. i, as a greek, support serbia, india, israel and armenia so we are opposite to them. and turkish-kurdish hezbollah is allied to erdogan. erdogan is good and moral man but he is still anti-greek so they will support turkey against us also.
