A fighter of Hezbollah was killed and three others were wounded on June 29 in two separate strikes by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) on the southeastern Lebanese village of Houla, Lebanese military sources told Xinhua.
The sources said that an Israeli drone targeted a house and a store in the center of Houla, killing the fighter and wounding two others. The death of the fighter was later confirmed by Hezbollah. The IDF also released footage of the strikes.
Another Israeli drone targeted a motorcycle on the main road linking Houla and Mays al-Jabal village, also located in southeastern Lebanon, wounding its driver, according to the sources.
And on June 30, the IDF released video footage showing overnight strikes against Hezbollah targets in the southern Lebanese towns of Taybeh and Rab al-Thalathine.
The Israeli attacks didn’t deter Hezbollah, which carried out three attacks on June 29. In separate statements, the group said its fighters targeted a Merkava main battle tank and a Namer armored personnel carrier in the Ruwaisat Al-Alam site. It also announced the destruction of surveillance equipment in the sites of Misgav Am and Metula.
The attacks were carried out “in support of the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and to support their brave and honorable resistance,” Hezbollah noted in its statements.
Also on June 29, Hezbollah Military Media released footage showing strikes with anti-tank guided missiles against a fortified structure in the Barkat Richa site and houses occupied by IDF troops in the settlements of Yir’on and Avivim.
Hezbollah and its allies began launching near-daily attacks against the IDF in support of the Hamas Movement and other Palestinian armed factions in Gaza after the outbreak of the Israeli war on the Strip last October.
So far, the border clashes have resulted in ten civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of at least 15 IDF soldiers and reservists. On the Lebanese side, more than 500 people have been killed, including 336 fighters of Hezbollah and at least 90 civilians.
