Three fighters of Hezbollah were killed on July 21 when a wave of Israeli strikes targeted several areas in southern Lebanon.
Lebanese military sources told Xinhua that a strike hit a house in the town of Houla, killing two Hezbollah fighters and wounding another. Video footage of this strike was later released by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).
A third fighter of the group was killed in a strike that targeted an ammunition depot in the town of Adloun, according to the sources. The strike on Adloun also injured six civilians and destroyed nine homes, the Chinese news agency reported, citing a Lebanese official medical source.
Hezbollah acknowledged the death of its three fighters in separate statements, saying that they were killed “on the road to Jeruaslem,” the group’s terms for Israeli strikes.
In response to the deadly Israeli strikes and in support of the Palestinian people and resistance in the Gaza Strip, Hezbollah said that its fighters launched rockets at the settlement of Dafna as well as the sites of al-Ramtha and al-Samqa. Hebrew media reported several impacts in Dafna, but no casualties.
Hebrew media also reported a fire near the settlement of Hanita as a result of a drone attack. However, Hezbollah has not claimed responsibility yet.
The clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border first broke out after the start of the war in Gaza last October, with Hezbollah and its allies carrying out attacks in support of the Strip.
So far, the border clashes have resulted in 12 civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of at least 18 IDF soldiers and reservists. On the Lebanese side, more than 500 people have been killed, including 357 fighters of Hezbollah and over 100 civilians.
