On May 9, Hezbollah’s Military Media released videos documenting five recent attacks by the group against the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).
The attacks, which took place on May 7 and 8, targeted the military sites of al-Rahib, al-Malikiyah and Hadab al-Bustan as well as the settlements of Metula and Shtula. Hezbollah fighters carried out the attacks using anti-tank guided missiles and mortars.
An Israeli soldier was killed and another was lightly wounded in the mortar attack that targeted the al-Malikiyah military site.
Hezbollah said that these attacks were carried out in support of the Palestinian people and resistance in the Gaza Strip and as a response to Israeli strikes on Lebanon.
The clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border first broke out after the start of the war in Gaza last October, with Hezbollah and its allies carrying out attacks in support of the Strip.
Hezbollah intensified its attacks on Israel earlier this week after the IDF launched a ground operation in the area of Rafah in southern Gaza, where more than 1,4 million Palestinains have been taking shelter.
So far, the border clashes have resulted in nine civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of at least 14 IDF soldiers and reservists. On the Lebanese side, more than 400 people have been killed, including 277 fighters of Hezbollah and at least 70 civilians.
