Hezbollah announced on October 31 that its fighters inflicted heavy losses on the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) while repelling attacks in five different directions in southern Lebanon over the last few days.
In a statement, Hezbollah said that the IDF’s 146th Division took losses after making several infiltration attempts in the first direction between the town of Naqoura to the town of Marouhin.
“Under heavy air and artillery cover, an Israeli infantry force attempted to infiltrate towards the southern neighborhoods of the towns of Sheheen and al-Jbeen. Another reconnaissance force also attempted to infiltrate towards the Wadi Hamoul area northeast of the town of Naqoura. The Mujahideen confronted them with appropriate weapons and forced them to withdraw to the Labouneh area. The resistance fighters also targeted enemy gatherings and advance routes inside the town of al-Dhuhayrah, and enemy positions in Ras al-Naqoura and Jal al-Alam with rockets,” the group added.
The group also reported several attacks on the gatherings of the IDF’s 36th Division in the second direction, from the town of Ramya to the town of Rmeish, including the town of Aita al-Shaab, and from Rmeish to the town of Aitaroun.
“The Islamic Resistance continues to target the gatherings and concentrations of the Israeli enemy army in this direction, amid continuous attempts by the enemy to penetrate the towns of Aita al-Shaab and Aitaroun,” it said.
In the third direction, the IDF’s 91st Division halted advance attempts between the towns of Blida and Houla, according to the group.
“Enemy forces are maintaining fire control over the eastern outskirts of the towns of Blida, Mays al-Jabal and Houla, amid the absence of any new attempt to advance on this direction after the heroic confrontations that the resistance fighters wrote during the past week in the town of Houla, and the heavy losses suffered by the advancing forces,” the group said.
Hezbollah also said that the IDF’s 98th Division launched an attack in the fourth direction, between the town of Markaba the Israeli-occupied town of Ghajar.
“An enemy infantry force advanced towards the eastern outskirts of the town of Kfar Kila, reaching the Tal Nahas area on the northeastern outskirts of the town. The Mujahideen confronted it with appropriate weapons, while intensively targeting enemy gatherings in the rear areas, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries among the enemy forces, who were forced to bring in military helicopters to evacuate the casualties amidst heavy artillery fire and thick smoke cover for fear of being targeted by the resistance,” it added.
The IDF’s 210th Division also made advance attempts in the fifth direction, between Ghajar and the Israeli-occupied Shebaa Farms, per the group.
“Resistance fighters targeted with rockets, intensively, many attempts to advance in the outskirts of the towns of Kfar Shouba and Shebaa with the aim of controlling the heights. The enemy deliberately burned the forests in the area for fear of any offensive operation by the resistance,” the group said, adding that resistance fighters dealt with “repeated attempts by enemy forces to advance towards the southern and southeastern neighborhoods of the town of Khiyam with various types of rockets and artillery, achieving confirmed hits.”
In addition, Hezbollah said that its missile force carried out 63 operations over the past three days, hitting Israeli targets as deep as 105 kilometers in the northern suburbs of the central city of Tel Aviv. The group added that its air force carried out during the same period 11 drone attacks against Israel, with the deepest target located in the southern suburbs of Tel Aviv some 145 kilometers into the country.
Hezbollah also said that its air defense force fired four anti-aircraft missiles at Israeli warplanes over Lebanon in the last three days.
The group concluded its statement by stressing that its fighters continue to fight effectively in southern Lebanon and launch attacks into Israel.
“Enemy forces avoid moving and positioning within the fields of vision of the resistance fighters for fear of being targeted. They create invisible crossings and paths, and rely on infiltrating at night into the border villages and withdrawing from them after destroying civilians’ homes and sabotaging the infrastructure,” Hezbollah said.
“The supply lines to the front and the axes of engagement have not been cut off since the beginning of the aggression on Lebanon, and the fronts are still being supplied with weapons and the necessary equipment according to the plans prepared in advance,” it continued.
“Despite the surveillance blockade practiced by the enemy in the skies of the south, the resistance fighters are still able to position, arm and launch hundreds of rocket barrages towards the enemy soldiers’ positions deep inside the entity on a daily and continuous basis and around the clock. This is confirmed by the scenes published by the war media. The enemy has not been able to thwart any launch operation from Lebanese territory,” it added.
Separately, Hezbollah Military Media released over the last few days several videos showing some of the group’s recent attacks against Israel.
The clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border first broke out after the start of the war in the Gaza Strip, with Hezbollah launching attacks in support of the Palestinian enclave. Israel escalated its attacks on Lebanon starting from September 17 and on September 27 it assassinated the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nassrallah.
The IDF officially announced the launch of a limited ground operation against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon on September 30.
According to Hezbollah’s latest statement, since the start of the ground operation in southern Lebanon at least 95 Israeli soldiers have been killed and more than 900 others have been wounded. In addition, 42 Merkava tanks, four armored bulldozers, an armored personnel carrier and three armored vehicles, including two Humvees, have been destroyed. Three Hermes 450 and two Hermes 900 combat drones have also been shot down.
