High-Level Turkish Delegation To Visit Moscow To Discuss Syrian Conflict

ILLUSTRATIVE IMAGE

A high-level Turkish delegation is set to visit Russia this weekend to discuss recent developments in Syria, Justice and Development Party [rulling party] spokesman Omer Celik said at a news conference in the capital Ankara on December 26.

According to Celik, the delegation, including Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, presidential aide Ibrahim Kalin, National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar and intelligence chief Hakan Fidan, will be in Moscow on December 29.

US President Donald Trump announced that his country is going to withdraw troops from Syria on December 19. This decision weakened position of US-backed Kurdish armed groups, which operate in northern Syria. Ankara sees thse groups as terrorist organizations and are concentrating forces for a possible military operation against them.

Easy win without costs or risks for Turkey if the back down now. Seems a no-brainer.

Turkish Greywolves

all those terrorist will be destroyed

Willing Conscience (The Truths

Erdogan’s falling for a trap, he’ll be destroyed here politically and go down in history as just another madman who tried and failed.

Ronald

Erdogan hasn’t stepped into the trap yet, and chances are good Russia and the SAA will assert border control, demolishing the trap. SDF will take whatever deal Assad is gracious enough to give these traitors.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

You can’t be paying enough attention, all the troops and equipment Erdogan’s already sent to the border aren’t just part of an expensive bluff that will never happen, they’re there for a reason, and that reason is totally unstoppable now. So far Russia and the SAA have moved into about 5% of the border areas adjacent to where the Turks say they’re going to invade, but who says the Turks are definitely going to invade where they say they’re going to, only a fool does. Erdogan will most likely stage a 2 or 3 pronged simultaneous attack, and since the northern areas only have Kurdish troops stationed there, I think we’ll see some Turkish troops pile across the northern border as well as across the river, and the SAA and Russia won’t be able to stop them in the north if they do. Assad is a gracious man, if the Kurds do well now and make amends for their past errors, Assad will reward them with even more than they had before the war, not limited or full self autonomy, but nearly everything else they wanted/demanded before the war Assad will agree to. You’re not paying enough attention to what Assad says he actually will do concerning the Kurds, he’s already said what he’s going to do concerning the Kurds, you must of missed the unconfirmed statements made by sources close to Assad, they’ll be treated fairly.

Ronald

Assad is a gracious and realistic man, if the Kurds agree to SAA control, in other words, SDF surrendering their arms to the SAA, he will treat them fairly. If they wish to continue playing games with the US, they will get their just reward from the Turks.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

That summed it up nicely, though they may not have to give up their weapons. Assad and Russia may actually give them even more yet, the stuff the US gave them was good for fighting Isis, but they’ll need a new supplier now, one that specializes in anti tank and anti armoured vehicle weapons perhaps. Guess who that would be?

Thunder

if he doesn’t attack then he will go down in history as a hero so yes i look forward to his decision here for mine is set in unbreakable stone

Willing Conscience (The Truths

So far he’s broken every deal he’s made with Putin, but he’s never once broken a promise he’s made to his supporters, I think he’s going to do exactly what he says he will, the same thing he’s said he will since day one.
