The Houthis (Ansar Allah) in Yemen announced on October 3 that they launched suicide drones at the central Israeli city of Tel Aviv in support of the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

A number of Yafa long-range suicide drones attacked a “vital target” in Tel Aviv, Houthi military spokesman Brigade General Yahya Sarea said in a statement, noting that the drones reached the target without being intercepted by Israeli air defenses.

“This operation comes within the fifth phase of the battle of the promised conquest and the holy jihad in support of the Al-Aqsa Flood,” the spokesman said.

“The Yemeni Armed Forces salute the heroic Mujahideen on the fronts of Gaza and the West Bank, as well as the fronts of Lebanon and Iraq, and confirm their continuation in carrying out their military operations against the Israeli enemy until the aggression stops and the siege on the Gaza Strip is lifted, as well as the aggression on Lebanon stops,” he added.

From its side, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement that two drones were intercepted by the Israeli Air Force over the sea off the coast of central Israel, adding that a third drone impacted an “open area.” No damage or injuries were caused, according to the military.

This was the second time Houthi drones managed to reach Tel Aviv. On July 19, a Yafa drone launched from Yemen struck the city, killing a man and wounding at least ten others.

The Houthis, who are backed by Iran, have attacked dozens of vessels affiliated with Israel or owned by the United States and the United Kingdom in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea since last November in response to the Israeli war on Gaza.

In addition, the group launched dozens of drones and missiles at Israel and shot down at least eleven American-made combat drones over Yemen and nearby waters.

The U.S. and the UK have carried out hundreds of strikes against Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen since January. Israel also launched two waves of strikes against civilian infrastructure in the western Yemeni province of al-Hodeidah in July and September.

The strikes killed nearly 60 people in Yemen, including civilians. However, they failed to degrade the military capabilities of the Houthis.

i get to be the first prick to have my comment ‘moderated’… booyaaah. exactly why is this houthi attack even important? they’ve already weaseled passed the iron dome, and the consequences of this mission are negligible. btw, is israel still cloud spoofing google earth over never never land airbase?
