On July 5, the Houthis released a video of their fighters destroying several vehicles of the Saudi-led coalition and its local proxies in the district of Sirwah in the central Yemeni province of Ma’rib.
The 4-minute video shows the Yemeni group’s fighters destroying at least five pick-up vehicles carrying Saudi-backed Yemeni fighters with anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs). An observation post of the Saudi military was also targeted.
Earlier this week, the Houthis launched a large-scale military operation in Ma’rib. The Yemeni group’s fighters were able to capture several key positions in the areas of al-Tabah al-Hamra and Haylan.
The Houthis success in Ma’rib, and before that in the nearby province of Dali’, exposed the Saudi-led coalition’s weak defenses in central Yemen.
