Seven soldiers and officers of the pro-Saudi wing of the Yemeni military were killed on November 13 in a rocket attack that was allegedly carried out by the Houthis.

According to al-Arabiya TV, the rocket attack targeted the Sahn al-Jin military camp in the central Yemeni province of Ma’rib.

“Houthi militias launched two Uragan rockets from their positions in Mount Helan, west of Marib. One landed at the main entrance of the camp, while the second landed near the Joint Forces headquarters,” a military source told the UAE-based news channel.

The source added that at least two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Houthis were seen flying over the military camp during the attack.

The Houthis indeed possess BM-27 Uragan 220mm rocket, which they took from the stockpiles of the former Yemeni military. The Yemeni group is also known for operating several types of UAVs.

Local sources identified one of the attack casualties as Brigadier General Saeed al-Shammahi, who was responsible for the training of Joint Forces in the camp. The commander’s son, also a service member, was reportedly killed with him.

The Houthis have not claimed responsibility for the attack, so far. The last few months were marked by a decrease in the Yemeni group’s rocket and UAV attacks.
