The Houthis admitted that their troops were responsible for a fire that led to the deaths of 45 at a migrant center on March 7th.
Houthi security forces had responded to a protest at a Sanaa holding facility on March 7 by launching three tear gas canisters without obtaining permission from their command, according to a statement carried by the rebels’ Saba news agency late on March 20th.
“One of the three [canisters] landed on a foam mattress, resulting in a fire that spread rapidly,” it said.
The statement said 11 security personnel had been detained, along with a number of senior officials, and that they would be tried in court.
The Houthis, who are locked in a six-year conflict against the internationally recognised Yemeni government, expressed “deep regret” over the incident at the Sanaa holding facility and promised to investigate.
The UN envoy for Yemen, Martin Griffiths, told the Security Council that the “extraordinary, horrific fire” had reminded the world “of the plight of the migrant community”.
This is a tragedy, and still the Houthis admitted to it and are attempting to deal with the consequences.
This is still in stark contrast of the Saudi-led coalition’s conduct. It frequently breaches the al-Hudaydah ceasefire, carries out airstrikes on civilian targets and refuses to stand responsible for any of its conduct.
- The Liaison and Coordination Officers’ Operations Room (loyal to Ansar Allah) reported 117 ceasefire violations in al-Hudaydah during the past 24 hours
- On March 21, Saudi-led coalition warplanes conducted 13 airstrikes on the Sanaa province
- On March 21, Saudi-led coalition warplanes conducted 2 airstrikes on the Amran area
- On March 21, Saudi-led coalition warplanes conducted 13 airstrikes on the Sarwah area
- On March 21, Saudi-led coalition warplanes conducted 3 airstrikes on the Khab and Shaaf area
- On March 21, Ansar Allah reportedly attacked Riyadh with several drones and missiles
- On March 22, clashes between Ansar Allah and Saudi-led forces continued in the east of Hilan
MORE ON THE TOPIC:
Speaking the truth on incident like this and taking responsibilty is very important and very much appreciated.
Indeed it is.
Here is a story that wreaks of BS AP sources: Iran threatens US Army post and top general It claims NSA SIGINT shows that the IRGC was planning USS Cole style attacks and assassination at a base in Washington DC. Iran doesn’t do suicide attacks. I’m certain the IRGC wargames all kinds of scenarios but would do so in meetings and something like this might be mentioned but way down on the list of possibilities. Hitting facilities in Israel would be higher on the list by a factor of 100. I bet the NSA heard something but this looks like a twisted interpretation.
AP is another jew outlet. The jews are functionally incapable of opening their mouths without some degree of truth distortion.
yes outright lying is ingrained in the jewish dna and they just can’t help themselves. but it will be better once they’re kicked out of the middle east and sent post haste to hell.
The Houthis are great warriors because first of all they are great men, not like Isisrahellians and Westerners who spend their time accusing others of their crimes.
The Houthi should be punished in the same way we punish Uncle Sam, Uncle Shmuel and the Brits whenever they harm civilians.
Trying to cover up or lie wouldn’t help, telling the truth even when you did something wrong show you have balls. Unlike Saudis pis$ heads and yankees+Zion that came right out of Satan’s assh0le.
Israel seizes Palestinian foreign minister’s travel permit after visit to International Criminal Court over war crimes probe
Look at the Zion shitting themselves, what happened Zion? You fuking drop you balls when trying to act like you have power… hide your ugly faces all you want, hell is the only place for fuking “people” who call themselves “god’s people”.
yep, seizing his passport is so stupid but they got away with it since I haven’t seen anything about it in the msm.
The migrants said the Houtis are trying to turn them into forced soldiers.
Tragic but also exacerbated by the troopers failing to notify their superiors, and proceeding with eagerness to calm the riots. The refugees themselves were running from either Somalia or Eritrea/Ethiopia situation (the news mentioned Horn of Africa). Tragic all around.
anywhich way, let them saudis bomb themselves right into bankruptcy – no future there and once the cousins gotten rid of mohammed bin salman some sense might trickle into the room.
