Houthis Captured French-Canadian Guided Missiles During Recent Operation (Photos)

The Houthis captured French-Canadian ERYX anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM) during the recent Operation Victory from God in the southern Saudi province of Najran.

The missiles’ containers were spotted in a video, which was released by the Houthis’ media wing on October 1 showing the second phase of the operation.

Developed by European missile company MBDA, the ERYX ATGM was designed to counter armored vehicles, bunkers, pillboxes and even for limited use as an anti-aircraft weapon.

The ERYX has an operational range of 50–600 m. The missile is guided by semi-automatic command to line of sight (SACLOS) and its warhead is capable of penetrating 900 mm of rolled homogeneous armour (RHA) behind reactive armour.

Houthi fighters captured many weapons, dozens of vehicles and loads of ammunition during Operation Victory from God, which took place in the period from August to September.

I guess soon we’ll find out if those Canadian weapons are any good, after Yemenis use them on Canadian MRAPs in Saudis’ service, which they still owe money for! Seriously, they still owe about $1 billion of the $15bn contract for Canadian armoured vehicles.

After the miserable performance of those vehicles, if it was any normal customer (meaning a customer who buys items to use, not to bribe foreign governments in order to be kept and remain in power) they would refuse to pay the remainder. In case of Saudis, if they don’t pay or sue it will suddenly open the eyes of western governments and media to Saudi abuse of human rights or war crimes. But don’t worry, of course the “eyes” will shut again after Saudis paid the full payment plus a little penalty for being insolence.

FlorianGeyer

In the words of Pompous Pompeo the Saudis should ‘change their behaviour ‘ if they ever refuse to pay for Western goods.

frankly

Houthi will fix em up, no worries!

“After the miserable performance of those vehicles,”

It sure wasn’t the vehicles who ordered them up that road. If anyone shouldn’t get paid it’s the Saudi officers in Riyadh who sent them into this trap. The vehicles started up and ran nice for the Houti’s …. good vehicles in the hands of someone who knows how to use them.

goingbrokes

Indeed, you can’t blame the inept saudi tactics on the vehicles.

Zionism = EVIL

Seriously, the stupid Canucks are slaves of Americunts and can not even assemble a Toyota as both the Cambridge and Woodstock Ontario plants perform below global ISO standards and very poor assembly, the inbred Americunt hillbillies in Kentucky do a better job. These are low tech rockets with a mere range of 600 meters and the operator would have to be suicidal. The Canucks are total morons and have never fought a war and ran from Afghanistan after a few dozen fatasses dead.

Barba_Papa

It was the Saudis who mishandled their vehicles, just like they mishandle everything, Can’t blame the vehicles if they’re being driven and deployed by chimps. I still think the Canadians are in the right for wanting their money. But it would be fun if they wouldn’t, and rightly so, because they knowingly sold weapons that were going to be used in a brutal and terrible war by the aggressor in that war. They should be nailed to the cross of public opinion for showing no morals. But I reckon since it involves the Saudis everything will get covered up. As usual. Just like Kashoggi is also already forgotten by both governments and media alike.

Western press still skeptical, the ‘experts’ say that the Houthis have a bad track record for telling the truth. I bet those experts get paid well by the Saudis or other foreign agents. https://www.realclearworld.com/articles/2019/10/02/saudi_arabia_under_siege_is_the_kingdom_quietly_crumbling_113097.html

frankly

F.uk.us is all about projection. When Houthi said they hit those aluminum catamarans they had pictures of wasted cat. When US said towers fell by aircraft crash, they showed pictures of controlled demolition. Houthi show pictures of burning oil fields and Israelis thought, holy shit are we next.

Time for peace talks.

N’est-ce pas Canadien Français?

grumpy_carpenter

I guess it’s a good idea to have a few ATGM’s around although from what I’ve seen Houti’s prefer torching AFV rather than riding in them. Maybe the next time around they could forego the ATGM’s and get some balls for the Saudi officers some of whom were reported to have fled the battle leaving their men leaderless.

frankly

Yuh, officers showing their true colors. What you don’t see in Hollywood movies.

Those 5,400 + Eryx missiles (CDN Forces inventory) were declared surplus in 2015,

and Canadian Government said they would be “destroyed”. Were we Canadians

lied to once again ? If you have evidence of a secret missile sale, you do have

a story. We are currently in a federal election campaign. Tell us more.

Here you go – https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/what-happened-to-the-canadian-armys-tow-2-missiles-832042

I missed that NAT POST story. Thanks! A coincidence that the Yanks supplied 200+ TOW launchers to Islamic guerrilla factions in Syria, at about the same time our DND was selling off our TOW missiles (at fire-sale prices) to the “U.S. Marines”. Did some Canadian surplus missiles end up in Syria? Remember how we witnessed

colossal wastage of TOW rounds in Syria?… fired at pickup trucks, fired at groups

of men resting beside cinder block walls, fired at almost anything except armour. Most of the launchers have by now been captured by Tiger Forces. Maybe Syrians

would be so kind as to share serial numbers and anything else that would help ID

Canada as a source. Inquiring minds wanna know.

Thanks for the link. This identifies yet another route how the jihadists were supplied – some nations (of course plausibly ignorant of the final destination) selling off their “surplus” weapons to an interested party, in this case the US Marines, through whom they can be recirculated pretty much anywhere in the world. Why would US Marines want to buy surplus crap, other than passing it on to some rag-a-tag proxy army, and Marines in this way becoming a conduit for international arms sales. I find that this bears researching in more detail and width, as this “conduit” has not cropped up before, for me anyway. Oversight committees don’t need to touch this ‘anomaly’ as it might not appear on any relevant inventories, particularly if the Marines pay in cash, acquired from the illegal drugs market operated from Afghanistan! This could be a messy thread to follow.

Redadmiral

Nice one Al, so some US marine general picked them up for a $1,000,000 and sold them on to the clown prince for $20,000,000 who in turn makes a present of them to the Houthis. The Houthis being the Houthis will be yelling Allah Achbar as the tows smash into Yanki M2A2s

Trudeau is a criminal and on his way to the need a job lifestyle.

one you are intimately familiar with

Zionism = EVIL

This Uki arsehole lives in mom’s basement and tries to pass for an Anglo-Canuck but his pathetic colloquialism like the not so widely used “eh” from the 50’s.

frankly

Actually it is still pretty common here. At least in my neck of the woods.

Eh!

gragor11a

Eh?

Entreguem esses mísseis aos criminosso do Canadá ou França, ou aos terroristas que queiram atacar esses países.. devolvam o terror….

gragor11a

Need to spread this around a bit. Canadian election is all about name calling right now. No substance. Chrystia Freeland has to go.
