Houthis Counter Saudi-led Forces’ Attempt To Restore Supply Lines In Western Yemen

Support SouthFront

On June 6, Houthi fighters repelled an attack of the Saudi-led coalition and its Yemeni proxies on their newly captured positions in the town of al-Fazah along the western Yemeni coast, according to the Yemeni al-Masirah TV. Reportedly, the Houthis killed several Saudi-backed fighters and damaged an armored vehicle of the coalition during the clashes.

Earlier, the Houthis managed to capture al-Fazah and cut off the supply line of the Saudi-led coalition at the Taef-al-Jah-Husseiniya crossroad forcing the coalition to withdraw from the vicinity of the al-Hudaydah airport, south of the strategic city of al-Hudaydah.

The Houthis media wing also announced that the Houthis had launched an attack on several positions of the Saudi-led coalition in the region of al-Jah south of al-Hudaydah. During the attack, Houthi fighters captured three armored vehicles of the coalition and destroyed one other.

The Saudi-led coalition and its Yemen proxies will likely launch a second attack on al-Fazah soon in order to reopen their supply line along the western Yemeni coast.

Hope to see that north pocket turn green. And hopefully some captured supplies for the Houthis. They need all the supplies they can get.

bro who is the red and green by your comment, saudi is red and houthis are green

Cartographers are inept. Orc colors are Green and Grey. Red is for the SAA and Houthis and their allies. Saudis sponsor Daesh and Qaida, so they should be shown as Green and Grey on all maps.

My feeling is the Houthis purposely withdrew but gave the impression of being driven back by the Saudi forces. Meanwhile, Houthi forces hid in the mountains east of the line of advance waiting until the Saudis rushed into the trap being overextended and supply lines exposed and vulnerable to counterattack. I thought it suspicious the Saudis were advancing so quickly with weak Houthi resistance. Saudi arrogance once again worked to their advantage and the Saudi forces walked into the trap. The Houthi tactics had the effect of:

(1) giving a false impression the Houthi defences were broken and on the run, (2) the Saudis took the bait and pressed the offensive to keep the retreating Houthi forces off balance, (3) the offensive up the coast created a long and vulnerable salient but the Saudi forces pressed on, (4) with the Saudi forces highly extended on a narrow front and with supply lines particularly vulnerable, the Houthis counter-attacked at key points, cutting the supply line, stopping the Saudi offensive in its tracks.

Watch the Houthis as they are teaching the world a grand lesson in ‘asymetric’ warfare, or as I prefer to say, how to kick Saudi butt.

You could see this happening a mile away because these saudis don’t understand the first rule of thumb of any advance:

Sun Tzu say: “By persistently hanging on the enemy’s flank, we shall succeed in the long run in killing the commander-in-chief.”

Art of war.

Lol, looks like the Saudi’s f**ked up badly here. The Houthis should keep pressing that pocket and drive them into the sea.

God bless the Houthis! give those saudi vermin hell!
