Houthis Launch Four Rockets At Saudi Military Positions In Northern Yemen (Video)

Support SouthFront

On October 3, Houthi fighters launched four “Zilzal-1” rockets at positions of the Saudi-led coalition and its Yemeni proxies in the Alb crossing on the border between the Saudi region of Asir and the northern Yemeni province of Saada, according to the Yemeni al-Masirah TV.

Experts said that the Zilzal-1 rocket is in fact a Soviet-made S-24 unguided air-to-ground rocket, which had been modified by the Houthis. The rocket has the range of 3km only and a heavy warhead, which makes it suitable for guerrilla warfare.

Prior to the rocket attack, the Houthis repelled three separate attacks of the Saudi-led coalition on their positions south of the Alb crossing. The Houthis’ media wing said that several Saudi-backed Yemeni fighters were killed and injured in the clashes.

The Saudi-led coalition has been attempting to secure the area south of the Alb crossing since the outbreak of the Yemeni war in 2015. However, the Houthis managed to maintain their advance on positions there thanks to their deep knowledge of the rough region.

Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

excellent work as usual houthis, i hope they caused max damage :)))

Nothing excellent here. Even Mujahideen in Afghani war against Soviet used captured air to ground missiles to attack Russians from the ground. You can easily place air to ground rocket on some improvised stand and fire it remotely from far distance, so you can’t be hit back. But those crude unguided rockets are very inaccurate. You can barely hit target of the size of football field from distance of one kilometer when fired from the ground.

If they caused damage, then what are you conplaining about? Id like to see YOU try!!!

Kill a Saud a day, and keep the headchoppers at bay.

What an obsession with “rocket” attacks propaganda. Seriously, I really doubt that Iran is capable anything else then reproduce old Soviet designs backed to 1960. The so called Irani “rockets” and “ballistic missiles” are hopeless and obsolete and unusable in real combat until Iran get hands on nuclear warheads. And he will probably never be able to do so as Israel effectivelly destroyed all Irani attempts in the past.

Promitheas Apollonious

be careful kid you showing your colors subconscious it is a bitch isn’t it? Learn to know what you talking about before you post or you sound like a hasbara.

I have been reading this “zo fu” diatribe of nonsense for a while now, and I am almost positively sure now that he is indeed JIDF/Hasbara..

if he walk as duck and quarks I am certain he is a one. But sometimes is good to humor them at first and not expose them so you see how stupid really are and how low they can get into their stupidity.

Why are ballistic missiles hopeless and obsolete unless they are equipped with nuclear warheads? Iranian ballistic missiles do not go back to the 60’s, although the science of rocketry was refined during those years, Iran had serious interactions with N. Korea and the Chinese in the field of MRBM and cruise missiles.

Talking about nuclear warheads, Pakistan can help Iran directly or indirectly in this matter.

I didn’t see Iran mentioned once in this article. If anything it demonstrates that the Houthis are getting almost no help from anyone because they are re-purposing weapons designed for aircraft for ground use since they don’t have any aircraft. All of their weapons are old Soviet / N. Korean stock from the Yemeni arsenal.

Regarding Iranian ballistic missiles, that is a different topic. They are a good defensive weapon as the Iranians have demonstrated that they are capable of doing native improvements such as semi-active radar homing for anti-ship missiles. Short / medium range missiles are probably the most cost effective deterrence Iran can develop as they can hit shipping, U.S. bases, and oil infrastructure if they are attacked.

What Iran ?, sorry love, where did that come into it ?. Oh got it, you are one of those hooked noses.

One more time kiker and you are blocked. Shalom.

Good job, Houthis!

northerntruthseeker .

Good for the Houthis!!! And of course we will never hear anything via the Jew spew media about whether these attacks have been successful…. Seeing that there is a lot of media silence about these attacks, I would therefore assume that the Houthis actually hit something significant and that the damage done was substantial.
