On November 30, the Yemeni Missile Forces loyal to the Houthis announced that it has tasted a new medium range ballistic missile. According to the statement a Saudi Army military base was successfully targeted with the missile as part of the test.
However, Colonel Turki al-Maliki spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen announced that the Royal Saudi Air Defense (RSADF) had successfully intersepted the ballistic missile over the city of Khamis Mushait in southern Saudi Arabia, only 110km away from the border with Yemen.
A video published by Saudi activists showed the RSADF firing at least one MIM-104 Patriot air defense missile from a position in Khamis Mushait to intercept the Houthis ballistic missile. Other local sources confirmed that the missile was successfully intercepted before hitting a military base in Khamis Mushait and released a video of the missile wreckage.
The Houthis had launched dozens of ballistic missiles against Saudi Arabia since the beginning of the Saudi-led intervention in Yemen in 2015. The Saudi-led coalition officially accused Iran and Lebanese Hezbollah of supplying ballistic missiles to the Houthis after a long range ballistic missile was fired on the Saudi capital Riyadh by the Houthis on November 4.
The test of the new ballistic missile will likely increase the tension between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and intensify the Saudi aerial campaign against the Houthis in Yemen.
Give the Houthis missile bases in southern Syria, see how Wahhabistan deals with incoming from several directions.
They need to fire way more than just one!!! That will overwhelm and confuse the patriots systems :)))
Houthis are saying they hit their military base target – the Ziodis are denying it.
Easier to hide a strike on a military base than one on civilian structures.
Simple missiles like that could be hit by patriots in the 1st Gulf War already. Methinks the current version can easily do that now. And the Saudis do have the money to buy the latest version.
How on Earth can Iran supply missiles that big to a country that has been basically been under relentless siege for years now? It’s not like we’re talking about AK-47’s and small TOW missiles here. These are basically the size of very large trucks. Half the population of Yemen is starving because of that siege. Or are the Saudis basically admitting that their own siege sucks because the Iranians can easily smuggle something that large past them? If I were MBS I’d be more pissed at my own inept commanders.

But then it still has to go through Southern Yemen, which is basically occupied by either the Saudi coalition or Al Qaida and/or ISIS. Which still means the Saudi commander in charge of the blockade is failing at his job. Get angry at that dude then!
snuggling routes are intact. similar situation is in syria. look at eastern ghouta or homs pocket. i read several months ago, that saudis are extremely nervous, because the oman government does nothing with smugglers. but i am nos specialist for yemen or oman. :)
its not that really hard to smuggled a ballistic missiles to Yemen. there are a lot of doorway to/from the Yemeni Houthis. You only have to use your common sense and guts to make it happen.
If you think its easy, then enlighten me. To the south and west lies the sea, patrolled by the Saudi coalition navy choking off all the ports. And you can’t just unload a unit as big as a truck on some sandy beach, not unless you have a military landing craft. To the north lies Saudi Arabia. It would be a fiendish coup to supply the missiles through the KSA, bot not bloody likely. To the east are the Saudi coalition ground troops, Al Qaida and ISIS. So common sense tells me its NOT that easy. Unless I missed a spot.
Saudi Arabia should respond strongly to what the Houthis are doing. They are already at war with the Houthis and retaliation to them is already justifiable. The Sunnis must be strong if they want to defeat the Shia.
