On August 29, the Houthis’ media wing released new videos showing the Yemeni group’s recent large-scale operation against ISIS and al-Qaeda in the central province of al-Bayda’.
The operation, which took place earlier this month, targeted several strongholds of ISIS and al-Qaeda in the district of Wald Rabi’. At least 250 terrorists of ISIS and al-Qaeda were killed by the Houthis. The Yemeni fighters also destroyed fourteen positions of the terrorists and liberated 1,000 km2 of the district.
The operation’s new videos prove, again, that warplanes of the Saudi-led coalition provided ISIS and al-Qaeda terrorists with close air support during the battle in the area of Yakla.
Furthermore, one of the videos shows dozens of documents which were found in the positions of ISIS and al-Qaeda in Yakla. Some of the documents were of the Saudi-led coalition. Many passports were also uncovered, some belong to terrorists from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Syria.
During the battle in Yakla, the Houthis seized large quantities of weapons from ISIS and al-Qaeda terrorists, some were allegedly supplied by the Saudi-led coalition.
The Houthis large-scale operation in al-Bayda’ dealt a major blow to ISIS and al-Qaeda remnants. The province was considered a safe haven for both terrorist groups.
The new videos of the Houthis’ operation expose the Saudi-led coalition’s alleged support for ISIS and al-Qaeda. It remains unclear, however, if the coalition is cooperating and coordinating with the terrorist groups.
