The Houthis revealed on August 2 that they had used a new medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM), dubbed Burkan-3, in the recent strike on the eastern Saudi city of Dammam.
During a press conference, the Yemeni group’s spokesman, Brig. Gen. Yahya Sari, said that the MRBM was developed and manufactured by “Yemeni experts” to overcome Saudi air-defense systems.
“Burkan-3 ballistic missile is the third generation of the Burkan long-range system, which can strike targets throughout the geography of the aggression’s countries,” the spokesman said.
The Burkan-3 MRBM appears to be a member of the Scud family, similar to the older Burkan-1 and 2H. However, unlike its predecessors it doesn’t share any similarities with known Iranian ballistic missiles.
The new MRBM has a range of over 1,200km. This would allow the Houthis to strike the U.S. Naval Support Activity in Bahrain. The base is located only 60km southeast of Dammam.
While it remains unclear if the new MRBM managed to hit its target, the Houthis’ ability to produce and operate such missiles poses a serious threat to the group’s foes.

The real situation is that before the dumbass Saudi arseholes and UAE wife beating pimps started meddling in Yemen, the Yemenis who now have a majority Zaidi Shia population were content to chew khat and engage in long bouts of coffee drinking and smuggling across the Bab al Mandeb. The Saudis have always treated the poorer Yemenis like slaves and after the idiot MBS staged a coup against his uncle Nayef and locked him up and then killed him and then wanted to turn Yemen into a Saudi vassal Wahhabi state like Bahrain and UAE. The problem being that Yemen was the poorest Arab nation with the toughest population who did not give a shit and lived off dates, goat milk and khat, so bombing them made no difference and made more lifelong enemies. In essence the SAUDIS ARE TRULY FUCKED unless they accept defeat and pay reparations. If not the Saudi cities and oil infrastructure will be destroyed as the new generation of Yemeni missiles, drones and airburst weapons is far deadlier and impossible to stop.
