The Houthis (Ansar Allah) released a six-minute video on September 26 featuring drone strikes against Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces.
The footage captures numerous strikes on fighters, vehicles, and military positions, though the group omitted specific dates and locations.
According to the Houthis, the operations utilized the Rujum—a modified version of the Chinese-made YD6-1000S hexacopter bomber drone featuring a 44-minute flight time and a 2 kg payload capacity, adapted to deploy munitions such as 60 mm mortars.
The release of the footage comes as fighting has intensified in southwestern Yemen, particularly along the Taiz-Lahj frontier.
Over the past two days, clashes have continued around the Kahboub mountains and Al-Madaribah and Al-Arah areas in Lahj, where government forces have reported repelling several Houthi attacks and taking over a number of mountain positions.
Fighting has also continued across several fronts in Taiz, while government forces have reported strikes on Houthi fighters and supply lines around Mokha and Dhubab in western Taiz.
The escalation has also extended across the border. In the last 24 hours, the Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted two ballistic missiles headed toward Khamis Mushait and two drones launched toward the capital, Riyadh. The Houthis have not yet claimed responsibility.
All in all, the Houthis appear to be preparing another push in southwestern Yemen. The capital of Taiz, which is already semi-besieged, may be the main target.
