The Yemeni Air Defense (loyal to the Houthis government) shot down two reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles belonging to the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen, the Houthis’ Al-Masirah TV reported on December 30.
According to the report, one of the drones belonging to the coalition was shot down by a “surface-to-air missile” in the Al-Salif area of Hodeidah province. Another one was downed in the Razih district in Sa’adah province.
Al-Masirah TV said that the drone downed near Hodeidah was the Vestel Karayel surveillance, reconnaissance and combat UAV/UCAV system developed by Turkey. However, the TV channel released no visual evidence to confirm this claim.
