Yemeni forces have shot down a US-made MQ-9 Reaper unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) over Yemen’s southwestern province of Dhamar, the Houthis (Ansar Allah) media wing reported on August 21. According to US officials, the UCAV was being operated by the US military.

According to the statement, the UCAV was downed by a ‘domestically-developed’ surface-to-air missile. It added that the missile used in the operation will be showcased at a special ceremony in the future.

I hope they are not stupid to take it for study where they are assembling their own drones

Ronald

They are not stupid, and yes they do build their own drones. And I must say, I am very proud of them.

They’ve managed to survive five years of war against the mighty USA / Saudi coalition armed mainly with AK’s RPG’s, mortars and AGTM’s. No only did they survive but they are now taking the fight to Saudi airports and oil fields.

To outfight military forces with a combined military budget of a trillion dollars annually that can watch you with satellites and drones and can attack you with planes you can’t even see means you are using superior tactics and strategy …. in other words the Houti’s are smarter than both the US military leaders and the Saudis so I don’t think you have to worry about the Houti’s doing something stupid.

IMHO

” in other words the Houti’s are smarter than both the US military leaders and the Saudis…” I think you are right. They have become too dependent on technology and it is a sign of the general dumbing down of western society. Today’s stupid young people are tomorrow’s stupid political and military leaders.

Frankly I believe the US military relies too much on high tech weaponry. It’s hard enough to keep a desktop computer running without glitches let alone packing an aircraft full of electronics. Modern microchips have circuits only atoms thick with only atoms of insulation between circuits. They then put those chips through extreme g forces, heat and cold and expect them to work perfectly. At the atomic level atoms can “quantum tunnel” through the insulation making short circuits and errors in how the software acts. What you can end up with is a never ending series of unexplained glitches ….. sort of like the problems they are having with the F-35 or the 737 MAX where one problem after another pops up which may be faulty code, may be faulty hardware or may be the probabilistic nature of quantum mechanics acting out.

I think there is a balance to just how much computer equipment you can stuff into an aircraft before you tip the balance of probability to never ending unexplained glitches and failures. There are always going to be glitches but at what point do they become unmanageable and do more harm than good?

MQ-9 Reaper UAV: The Most Feared USAF Drone in the World MQ-9 Reaper / Predator B

Program cost US$11.8 billion

Unit cost US$15.9 million (flyaway cost, 2019) Developed from General Atomics MQ-1 Predator

Developed into General Atomics Avenger

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EizQ4y39B1A

The MQ-9 Reaper UAV, once called “Predator B,” is somewhat similar to the famous Predator. Until you look at the tail. Or its size. Or its weapons. It’s called “Reaper” for a reason: while it packs the same surveillance gear, it’s much more of a hunter-killer design. Some have called it the first fielded Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle (UCAV).

The Reaper UCAV will play a significant role in the future USAF, even though its capability set makes the MQ-9 considerably more expensive than MQ-1 Predators. Given these high-end capabilities and expenses, one may not have expected the MQ-9 to enjoy better export success than its famous cousin. Nevertheless, that’s what appears to be happening. MQ-9 operators currently include the USA and Britain, who use it in hunter-killer mode, and Italy. Several other countries are expressing interest, and the steady addition of new payloads are expanding the Reaper’s advantage over competitors.

“Several other countries are expressing interest” lol, i’ll bet it’s fewer countries everyday.

Zionism = EVIL

This is going straight to Moscow , Tehran and Beijing for close examination :) and enhanced replication.
