The Houthis (Ansar Allah) are expanding their military arsenal. On October 28th, the newly released footage showed their new Al-Qaria unmanned torpedo drone.
The Houthis test launched the new underwater drone of their own design. The footage showed the kamikaze drone successfully destroyed the target.
Detailed features of the new drone were not revealed. It was given the name of Al-Qaria, which can be translated like “doomsday”. Judging by the footage, the drone is equipped with camera on a retractable rod aimed to correct the course. That’s why it is going up to surface repeatedly.
The Houthis have a wide range of aerial and naval drones in service. Most of their naval drones were operating on the surface. They were used in the recent attacks on vessels of the pro-Israeli coalition in the Red Sea. The US Central Command reported that it intercepted the first Houthi underwater drone in February 2024.

“poseidon” is not torpedo at all, it’s not against ships, its primary targets are military ports, bases, shipyards on a shore like newport news and city of washington. its warhead too powerful for squadron, there are enough torpedoes and anti-ship missiles with conventional and nuclear warheads less than megaton class.
