The Houthis’ Qasef-1 multirole UAV
The southern Saudi airports of Abha and Jizan were targeted by suicide drones in the late hours of June 15 in a coordinated attack by the Houthis.
Brig. Gen. Yahya Sari, a spokesman for the Yemeni group, said that several Qasef-2K suicide unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) struck a drone command and control center in Jizan airport and Abha airport’s main fuel station.
“The operations achieved their goals with high precision, thanks God, rendering both airports out of service,” the al-Masirah TV quoted the Houthis’ spokesman as saying.
The Qasef-2k is a slightly upgraded variant of the Qasef-1 UAV, which is a copy of the Iranian Ababil-2. The new suicide UAV is armed with a heavy high-explosive fragmentation (HE-FRAG) warhead that explodes 20m over the target.
From its side, the Saudi-led coalition said that the Royal Saudi Air Defense Force (RSADF) had intercepted a “ballistic missile” over the Kingdom’s southern region. The coalition didn’t comment on the drone attack, which usually means that it was successful.
AThe bha airport was attacked twice by the Houthis earlier this week. The first attack was carried out with what the Yemeni group described as a “cruise missile”, while five suicide drones were used in the second attack.
The repeated attacks by the Houthis on Saudi Arabia’s airports are a clear example of the Yemeni group’s growing offensive capabilities.

If the Resistance wants to push the anglozionists, KSA et al. back then I think it should step up attacks like this and it should have done so a long time ago. I was traveling Iran for business several years. Carpet bombing will not be possible if you take their air defense into consideration. They have more AD sites then you may imagine, and an own development program, which produces systems noone outside Iran knows their numbers.

However, they failed to understand the intricate tribal alliance system of Yemen and its modern demography where the Shia now hold sway. The Saudi aim was neo-colonial, to impose a quisling Wahhabi regime led by an doddering vassal Hadi, the Yemenis who have been fiercely independent since pre-biblical era, dating back to the Queen of Sheba, simply did not cotton to Saudi dictates and resisted. The Saudis like all arrogant cowards, in sheer frustration made the fatal mistake of attacking Yemen’s civilians and infrastructure when their war effort failed. Now the Yemenis have had a chance to organize themselves and hit back. The situation for Saudi Arabia and UAE will get worse if they do not stop this totally wasteful and futile conflict, which borders on wilful genocide. In any asymmetrical war, if the resistance forces can withstand the initial onslaught from superior firepower and survive, they have won. There is a good lesson for US in the Yemen war too, if Bolton’s unlimited insanity leads to a suicidal attack on Iran, the outcome will be far worse. In any case, respect and kudos to the tenacious Ansarallah and their Yemeni military allies for their extraordinary fighting capacity, despite all odds. The Saudis have opened up a Pandora’s technology box in Yemen, where new deadly regional weaponry is coming into play with devastating effects on the Saudi aggressors.
