The Yemeni Air Force, a key ally of the Houthis, announced in the early hours of July 25 that it had targeted King Khalid airbase in southern Saudi Arabia with several Qasef-2K suicide unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
“The UAV’s operations targeted warplanes shelters, armament and maintenance stations, equipment and sensitive positions in King Khalid airbase,” the Yemeni Air Force said in a short press release.
The Qasef-2k is a slightly upgraded variant of the Qasef-1 UAV, which is a copy of the Iranian Ababil-2. The new suicide UAV is armed with a heavy high-explosive fragmentation (HE-FRAG) warhead that explodes 20m over the target.
A spokesman for the Houthis, Brig. Gen. Yahya Sari, said that the operation was successful, claiming that all the UAVs hit their designated targets with “high accuracy.”
“Our operations are a response to the aggressor’s siege and continuous airstrikes which reached 21 in the last 12 hours,” the spokesman added.
King Khalid is one of the biggest airbases in southern Saudi Arabia. The airbase was targeted by the Houthis several times over the last few weeks.
The increasing attacks on key facilities in southern Saudi Arabia are an indication of the Houthis’ growing offensive capabilities.
Thats right brothers, keep up good fight. Whole Yemen will be freed from wahhabi/zionist monstrosities.
The Ansarallah and the Yemeni military is now on a total winner and the Saudi scum are really getting whacked. It will get a lot worse and the Ansarallah are now manufacturing some real modern weaponry and large numbers of volunteers from the region are joining their historic resistance. The Saudi cowards have no support left in the Arab world and are now bringing in lardass Americunt losers to save their hides. Not going to work.
