How Many Lives Will The Mainstream Media Claim In The Pursuit Of Propaganda?

Immediately following the assassination of the Russian Ambassador to Turkey, Andrey Karlov, it is important to take note of the role that western mainstream media played in his death. What we know at this point is that the assassin, Turkish police officer Mevlut Mert Altintas, shot the Ambassador multiple times in the back, and shot him again after he collapsed to the floor. The assassination occurred in front of an audience of the press, at the official opening of an art exhibit meant to express the nuanced history of Turkish-Russian relations over the ages. The assassin’s words were immortalized in front of the cameras, and they are important to review in full:

“Allahu Akbar!”

“Don’t forget Aleppo! Don’t forget Syria! Don’t forget Aleppo! Don’t forget Syria!”

“You will not be safe!”

“Back up! Back up!” (directed at someone moving towards him.)

“Only death can take me away from here. Whoever has a role in this cruelty, they will pay for it one by one. They will.”

What cruelty is he alluding to? The liberation of Aleppo has alleviated the suffering of tens of thousands of civilians, and thousands of Islamic terrorists that had been subjecting them to numerous forms of heinous cruelty have been eliminated or evicted from Aleppo. The assassin is very obviously parroting the western main stream media narrative that has been decisively disproven by reporters actually on the ground in Aleppo, that the Syrian Arab Army and their allied militias are committing horrible atrocities on helpless civilians, including summary executions. We are all still waiting for proof of these atrocities.

As the mainstream media rails against the dangers of “fake news”, they have apparently been pushing a false narrative that plays right into the hands of Islamic State and their associates in Syria. This conveniently well-connected and well-placed assassin pushed the same narrative in his statements after cowardly shooting an unsuspecting senior diplomat in the back multiple times in front of a live audience. Is the western mainstream media not complicit to some degree in pushing propaganda that they know to be untrue, and that continues to insight acts of violence?

Andrey Karlov’s murder, though horribly tragic, is just one in the many hundreds of thousands of killings that the western mainstream media have colluded in. All of the usual suspects were there at the start of the Syrian conflict, pushing the U.S. establishment narrative, hoodwinking their audiences into placidly accepting the foreign policy of the Obama administration and its European and Gulf State allies whom funneled thousands of arms and thousands of Islamists into a nation they hoped to utterly destroy. Over 300,000 have perished in the resulting conflagration, and millions have been displaced. The same mainstream media packaged this Syrian refugee migration as a “good thing” for Europe

The same pattern played out in Libya, resulting in perhaps ten thousand killed, and the most prosperous nation in North Africa rendered a failed state. The main stream media showed footage of Muammar Gaddafi’s murder on television as well as a jubilant Hillary Clinton exclaiming, “We came. We saw. He died!” Ha, ha ha!

This is the same main stream media that helped sell the false narrative that Saddam Hussein was hell-bent on obtaining a nuclear bomb, reestablishing a vast chemical weapons capability and was planning on using these weapons in the near future. How many people was the real “fake news” complicit on murdering this time around? As horrible as the fact may be, we don’t even know. The mainstream media surely will never tell you. Although hard in many cases to verify, it is estimated that approximately 180,000 Iraqis have died as a result of the 2003 invasion and occupation. A National Geographic study conducted in 2013 that surveyed almost 2,000 Iraqi households, estimated total deaths at over 405,000. Almost 5,300 U.S. and Coalition troops and contractors also perished. All predicated on a great big lie, happily sold to the public by the official “fake news” propagandists.

So a brave and dedicated senior Ambassador has become the latest victim of a concerted effort by the mainstream media to pedal ‘fake news” meant to insight and promote violence. Whether this violence comes at the hands of a misguided assassin or through the acquiescence of the citizenry of Western nations to unending, criminal wars perpetrated by their governments, means little to the peddlers of this vile propaganda. When will the real “fake news” be called out for what it is? When will the propagandists be held accountable? When will the people wake up? Nazi Germany’s Minister of Propaganda, Joseph Goebbels once said:

 “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

The people are finally starting to see the lies for what they are and have flocked to independent media sights that are reporting a more accurate view of events. Media that presents facts without the accompanying biased commentary. Media that is free from the influence of the state or corporate influence. These independent media organizations present a counter narrative to that asserted by U.S. and Western governments and the mainstream media acting on their behalf. This truth telling is a threat, because it has allowed the people a glimpse of the truth, and the facade of lies is slowly falling away. The state has seen the obvious threat and labeled the truth-tellers “fake news”. Southfront.org has been labeled by the establishment as such, and we hold our heads high with pride.
