Less than 24 hours after the beginning of the new ceasefire agreement, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies launched limited ground attacks on Syrian Arab Army (SAA) positions in the towns of Shaykh Hadid and Kernaz in northern Hama and on the town of Qasabiyeh in southern Idlib.
The al-Mayadeen TV said that the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) was able to repel the attacks, which began in the late hours of June 12. The Russian Aerospace Forces and the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) resumed their airstrikes on terrorists’ positions in northern Hama and southern Idlib as an initial response.
According to pro-government sources, army units destroyed two battle tanks and a BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) belonging to HTS and its allies during the clashes in northern Hama and southern Idlib.
Earlier, a three-day ceasefire was announced by pro-government sources. The failed ceasefire was the second this month and the third since the beginning of the SAA ground operations around Idlib.
HTS’ new attacks indicate that the group and its allies are not willing to accept any peaceful agreement what so ever. This leaves the door open for future ground operations by the SAA.

The second I saw this events, the second I understood it was something big behind and basically impossible to achieve it with so few “rebels elements” (of those explained in mainstream) without having external support and strategy somewhere.

I do enjoy popping over to Benjamin Fulford, not for what he says, as most of it I take with a pinch of salt. However, you find crumbs in his findings, which come true within a period of time. If you don’t mind my saying so, the same time I studied about Blackwater (a little bit okay, back in the day about Irak WarII) was this event that almost everyone forgot — I don’t remember the date but it was probably somewher between 2005-2006 — A huge depot of ammunitions and weaponry was stolen near Bagdad, huge because the size of several football stadium. It was the time we started heard things about Backwater. And the interesting point was that only 5 soldiers (or so…) were there to care the overall of this gigant stock (all killed). And we never heard something on that case there after. Evaporated! Afaik, the United States did not really try to follow the trail of the loot, (I mean, in relation to the threat that represented, and why so little security this time)..? And well, doing such operations must have been huge too, about logistics! How many trucks until the depot could be completely emptied? And practically without trace!? The column of truck had to be very long and easily spotted by air, but nothing! Never heard of it again.. it was only 10 years later that I made the connection between Daesh coming of nowhere, and their need for weapons, and Blackwater still always present on this kind of op. This was the big thing I remember, and yes, a speculation from myself. But that only can explain how Daesh can get their stock so “silently”. Well, even the small Armenian unit which has very good human intel on the ground, due to large Armenian community in Syria and Lebanon, has openly conceded that Russia has no real end game in Syria. TEHRAN (FNA)- Turkey has ordered the terrorist groups stationed in Northern Syria to continue fighting the Syrian army and keep their positions until the 2019 G20 Osaka summit in Japan later this month in a bid to find a pressure leverage to stop the army’s military operations. The Arabic-language al-Watan newspaper quoted dissident sources close to the Ankara-backed terrorists in Idlib as saying on Wednesday that the Turkish officers deployed in regions under the supervision of Ankara in Idlib province have ordered the terrorist commanders in Northern Hama, Southern Idlib and Northeastern Lattakia to launch preemptive attacks against the army-controlled areas and prevent the Syrian army forces’ advance. They added that Turkey insists on improvement of battlefield and military conditions of the so-called National Liberation Front, Jeish al-Izza and Tahrir al-Sham al-Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) terrorists in Hama, Idlib and Lattakia, noting that Ankara seeks to use the G20 summit in Osaka to meet his Russian and US counterparts and pressure them to prevent the Syrian army’s military operations. The sources said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan wants to return to the de-escalation zone agreement with Russia through talks (after non-commitment) to it and following Moscow’s repeated opposition to Ankara’s demands for a ceasefire in Idlib and the adjacent areas. Relevant reports said last Monday that Turkey had ordered Tahrir al-Sham to reinforce strategic military positions in Jabal al-Zawiyeh in Idlib province after it turned down Russia’s demand for withdrawing militants from the region, the Arabic-language media outlets said. The Arabic-language al-Watan newspaper wrote that with an aim to confront the Syrian Army in Northern Hama, Tahrir al-Sham has sent large volumes of its military equipment to al-Jolmeh to North of Mahradeh. “Turkey’s intelligence body has asked Tahrir al-Sham and other terrorist groups in Northern Syria to reinforce its defense lines, including 50 towns and villages up to the city of Ariha in Aleppo-Lattakia international highway as clean-up operation by the Syrian and Russian armies in Jabal al-Zawiyeh in Idlib is imminent,” al-Watan quoted local and opposition sources in Idlib as saying. The sources reiterated that Turkey’s operations room in Shir Mughar region in Jabal Shahshabou in Northern Hama where terrorists are constantly supported in terms of weapons, ammunition and intelligence has warned terrorists that the Syrian army might soon capture Jbal Shahshabou which overlooks Sahl al-Ghab in Northwestern Hama and towns to the South of Idlib and then advance towards Jabal al-Zawiyeh. The al-Watan newspaper also further quoted the sources as saying that Russia had recently asked Turkey to make terrorists retreat from Jbal Shahshabou region in Northwestern Hama and Kabani town in Northeastern Lattakia which are regarded as the Southern and Western gates of Idlib, but Ankara has strongly turned down the demand. Meantime, the Arabic-language al-Youm news website quoted media activists in Idlib province as saying that after supplying advanced weapons to terrorists, Ankara has ordered them to launch new attacks in Northern Hama to recapture the town of al-Saqilbieh.
The terrorists did not made and has not made any violation of the ceasefire agreement because they never has made any agreement like that. The only agreement they have (with Israel-USA-NATO) is to destroy Syria and to make a partition of this country, as it is right now. The agreement was made between Russia and Turkey because Turkey wants to keep alive its terrorists at Idlib and to look the possibility to move to south part of Syria. Turkey is a NATO member, and this means that Turkey acts according to NATO regulations (although it does not pretend to do so). My point is that it looks like the mission of Turkey is to halt Russia in Syria (this is obvious), how ? through economical and commercial interest (buying S-400, gas pipe line, construction o a nuclear reactor). What we have seen so far is that Russia allows to do Turkey and Israel whatever they want in Syria.

You have to remember that Assad forcibly conscripted 25,000 FSA fighters from Daraa and Qunitra into the SAA last year, as well as quite a few more from other rebel militias as well, and now they always make up at least half the front lines in any operations that occur [it was even more last year until mass defections occurred]. So the SAA don’t always have crack troops with high incentive in the front lines, at least half of them were ex rebel FSA fighters only a year ago, and probably half if not most of them would happily defect back if they thought they could [or got a chance]. Conscripted rebel fighters don’t make very good fighters at all, just good cannon fodder, I just feel sorry for the Loyal SAA that have to serve alongside them, they get killed too.

I agree this war is complicated, but I also think it’s changed into another war now. Back in June last year it looked like the conflict in Syria was coming to an end, the Israelis/US/Arab league [minus Qatar]/most of the EU, all said Assad could remain in power, and right up until now not one of those parties have changed that endorsement, not even the Israelis, who as you know are still bombing Iranian and Syrian targets in Syria, but STRANGELY still saying Assad can stay. I don’t know what you think about that, but I think it means the Israelis actually prefer Assad to Erdogan now, Assad’s actually become the lesser of 2 evils. I believe Trump would like to end the war in Syria and get out altogether, it’s just the neo con warhawks in the government bureaucracies stopping a US withdrawal, or at least it was before Erdogan’s last threat to invade. And I believe Trump just like the Israelis, now thinks Assad’s the lesser of 2 evils too. TEHRAN (FNA)- French-Dutch joint delegations have arrived in Kurdish-held regions in Raqqa in line with supporting their separatist objective in Syria, opposition sources told the state daily on Wednesday. The Arabic-language al-Watan newspaper quoted Syrian opposition sources as saying that a joint delegation from French and Dutch foreign ministries have recently met with People’s Protection Units (YPG) commanders in Raqqa Province. The newspaper noted that the meeting was held in line with supports from separatist objectives of the Kurdish fighters in Northeastern Syria, and said that the French delegation has declared its full preparedness to provide military, diplomatic and political support for these forces in Northeastern Syria. Meantime, the Dutch-French delegation is to hold two meetings in Paris on June 25 and June 27 to review the manner of support for these forces with cooperation of France, Holland, the US and the UK as well as other countries. In a relevant development in May, tens of trucks carrying the US military and logistical aids had been dispatched to the areas under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Eastern Euphrates despite declaring the end of the ISIL by Washington, media sources said. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that a convoy comprising 60 trucks containing logistic and military consignments as well as prefabricated houses was sent to Eastern Euphrates via Simalka crossing in Northern Iraq. The SOHR also reiterated that about 20 trucks have also been sent to Kobani Airport and Kharab Ashk military base in Northern Aleppo, and said that the remaining of military aid was also sent to the areas under SDF control in al-Jazira region in Deir Ezzur province. Also in May, media reports said that the Kurdish forces backed by the US-led coalition have prepared to launch military offensive against the Syrian Army and resistance forces in Deir Ezzur Province. The Turkish-language Anatoly news agency quoted local sources as saying that after taking control of Eastern Euphrates region, the Kurdish fighters are preparing to launch an attack on Damascus-backed forces in Eastern Euphrates in Deir Ezzur. It noted that the US-led coalition forces are training the Kurdish fighters in Ain Issa bases in Raqqa province and al-Amr oil region in Eastern Deir Ezzur, adding that the trainings include passing through mobile bridges and rivers. The US-led coalition forces and Kurdish fighters are looking for winning the support of regional tribes for launching the attack after residents of the region called for holding massive protests in Eastern Euphrates and called for expulsion of US-backed Kurdish fighters. Meantime, the US-led Kurdish militants have held meetings with tribal leasers in al-Amr oil zone.
TEHRAN (FNA)- US security firms have sent tens of personnel to at Ein al-Assad airbase in Western al-Anbar in line with Washington’s plan to redeploy large amounts of military equipment and weapons systems from Jordan and Syria in Iraqi province. The Arabic-language website of al-Ma’aloumeh news website quoted a security source in al-Anbar as saying on Tuesday that the security firms’ personnel have arrived in Ein al-Assad on special planes and under tight security measures. He added that the new group came to Ein al-Assad concurrent with the transfer of military and engineering equipment from Jordan and Syria to the airbase by their security firms and in line with the US plans to transfer military equipment to the Western parts of al-Anbar. The source also said that recently, the US security firms have started patrolling missions in the Western towns of Iraq. A former Iraqi legislator disclosed last week that the US had established 17 military bases in Iraq and deployed F35 fighter jets in Ein al-Assad airbase. Al-Ma’aloumeh quoted Mohammad al-Dayeni as saying that Washington had set up 17 military bases in Iraq. He added that the US had also deployed Spirit (stealth) fighter jets in Ein al-Assad, adding that the F-35 fighters which had earlier been stationed in the airbase fly on a daily basis to spy on Iran. Al-Dayeni said that the US forces had specified 63,000 targets in and outside Iraq for attacks, including the positions of Hashd al-Shaabi (Iraqi popular forces). Meantime, a prominent Iraqi political expert revealed late last month that Washington continued to increase the number of its troops in Iraq, warning of the US plots to make aggression against the neighboring states. Sabah al-Akili told al-Ma’aloumeh that the number of US forces had increased in Iraq despite the general demand by the Iraqi people for their withdrawal. He added that the US forces’ attacks on Iraqi security forces indicated that they were combat forces and were not deployed for advising or training purposes. Al-Akili underlined that expansion of Ein al-Assad airbase, extension of its runway and deployment of Patriot missile systems at the base showed that Washington intended to stay in Iraq for the long-run, specially given the reports that the US planned to use Iraq as a platform to attack the neighboring states and was, thus, sending more forces to its bases in Iraq.
