On Sunday, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) captured Abu Dali village and al-Maqta’a hill in the northern Hama countryside, according to the HTS-linked news agency Iba’a.

Iba’a said the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) units withdrew from the village after a successful VBIED attack of HTS.

Iba’a added that several Syrian soldiers were killed or captured in Abu Dali village. Moreover, HTS captured a T-72 tank and two armed vehicles of the SAA inside the village according to the source.

Meanwhile, opposition sources revealed that HTS field commander Khaled Sulash al-Ahmad “Abu Adam” was killed by the SAA during the ongoing HTS attack in the northern Hama countryside.

Opposition sources added that Syrian warplanes conducted several airstrikes on Jarjnaz and Maarrat al-Nu’man towns in the southern Idlib countryside. From its side, pro-government forces announced that 20 HTS fighters were killed on Sunday around Abu Dali village.

The capture of Abu Dali village is considered the first real achievement of HTS in the northern Hama countryside in 2017. It’s still unknown if the SAA is planning to launch a counter-attack to recapture the town, or if HTS will continue its attack.

what are the turks and fsa doing to let this happen – yankee coalition is as usual up to no good – both groups are hopeless and useless – a lot of weight is being put on the russian led coalition to finish up the terrorists which they will inevitably …

BMWA1

10:1 the tanks are from Bulgaria, there are many documented shipments of such to ‘Syrian’ ‘moderates’.

888mladen .

Bulgaria has been the a hub of illegal arm trade since times immemorial (former SU) and also MOSAD’s play ground.

Lumen

Seems HTS is much stronger than SAA.

Tudor Miron

Your tralling doesn’t reveal anything useful other than your own stipidity. Don’t worry, those HTS goat lovers will soon come to Europe (thanks to your governments and their masters). You’ll make one happy family.

VGA

A frenchie jihadi lover? Don’t worry, in a decade or two, your country will be the new epicenter of sectarian civil war. And we all know about the performance of the french army …

Gary Sellars

For Sale: WW2 French Army rifle. Never fired, dropped once.

χρηστος

that must have hurt our French friend……i think it was a hit below the belt though!

888mladen .

Was it true though?

χρηστος

thats why i think it hurt!!!

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Would have been better to tell him there was a White sale on.

This coincides with the Turkish invasion of Northern Syria and their so called meeting with HTS. Never trust the Turks. The Syrian government forces need to pay back the US/Zio/Nazi al-Qaida terrorists with interest. They should not only reverse all the gains of the US terror group, but they need to continue until all of Hama governorate is freed from the all terror groups, whether you call them moderate or not. There is also need to liberate the terrorists’ safe heaven and incubator of Idleb, from where these attacks originate. Once again the miscalculation or mistake by Russia in creating these terrorist safe heavens to save the terrorists from certain defeat at the hands of the Syrian government forces comes to the fore. Whatever the case, with the Syrian and Russian air force having total mastery over the skies of Syria, such series set backs are completely unacceptable.

Gary Sellars

Are you a fucking idiot? The SAAF and RuAF can’t be everywhere. They are pushing to take Mayadin and repulse IS on the Palmyra-DeZ highway.. you think they have hundreds of strike planes available?

Idlib will be dealt with once IS are crushed. There will be no negotiation with AQ goat fuckers or their “moderate” pet cucks in the so-called FSA.

ColinNZ

I hear what you are saying, but SAA & allies push here was suicidal given how stretched it’s front lines are … many much needed SAA lives and resources lost needlessly (just as with Palmyra), and miscalculations are an understatement in these tragic circumstances.

888mladen .

You are man of understanding but not Garry. Stretched supply lines are big no no in military doctrine. If RU planed to stretch SAA supply lines that much what were they going to do about it knowing it might put at risk everything that has been achieved so far. Bomb from the air without boots on the ground? What does RU want actually to achieve by its intervention in Syria?

Ronald

Adherence to doctrine rarely wins .

888mladen .

Not in this case and not in RU intervention in Syria. You never defeat the enemy forces raining bombs from the sky at them. The best example Yemen.

Gary Sellars

You can when you draw them into assault your defended towns. They concentrate their forces and then you hit them hard.

That doesn’t work for the Saudi fuktards cuz the Houthi are guerrillas who assault weak points and avoid going head to head. IS wants to contest territory while the Houthis are inflicting death by a thousand cuts on the Saudi invader. Very different war fighting strategies.

888mladen .

Wet dream. It has never worked. Unless you put a boot on the ground it’s not yours.

Gary Sellars

The issue is not how stretched the supply lines are, but how well defended they are. Given the nature of this conflict and the terrain types, it’s not feasible to contest and hold empty desert areas. Hold the main towns and roads, and respond quickly when the enemy assaults them. The SAA did this for holding the road to Aleppo thru Kannasser and other choke points and were successful with neither AW or IS able to shutdown supply line for more than a few days until their assault forces were swept away by SAA response. The Palmyra-DeZ road is NO DIFFERENT

888mladen .

Sorry but you use a language of an idiot. You would find a common language with US special troupes on the ground

Gary Sellars

Go away terror supporter. I reserve polite language for decent people, not Wahhabi goat rapers. IS and AQ are going to be exterminated from Syrian territory. If you object, I don’t care.

888mladen .

Yes I know you are a kind of person who doesn’t care. You are not alone. There is an army out there.

swirlydragon

I knew Turkey could not be trusted. There’s no difference between Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia!

Tudor Miron

I think that it will be the same old story – SAA will regain lost ground, inflicting heavy losses to this Al Queda trash.

888mladen .

Yes and what will replace those killed in action? How many times can you do this before you run out of fighting force?

Deo Cass

Look at the terrorists moving freely in the open without even Russian helicopter gunships hassling them! Where are the mighty Russian Alligator or Mi 28 choppers? This is inconceivable. Some aircraft bombs are seen detonating in a safe distance from the terrorists. Also the terrorists have a very clear view from the air of the Syrian Army positions. How is this possible? I cannot understand Russia with all its boasting of having destroyed 1,500 al-Qaida terrorists in Hama!

Gary Sellars

They can’t be everywhere simultaneously. Russia doesn’t have thousands of combat troops or hundreds of aircraft. The Syria operation is a minimalist operation, not some huge heavy-handed occupation like the yanks indulge in.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Never trust these sources have seen videos of them driving alleged captured trucks and they are the exact same ones they used before, this is just more hype and propaganda to put on a show by these terrorists.

Kira Binkley

The HTS still confuses me, and every time I read up about them I get still more confused. For instance, what exactly is their goal?

Can somebody brief me?

Gary Sellars

HTS are AQ. That should be enough to know. They want a Wahhabi Sunni Sharia state, a Caliphate essentially.

HTS was originally created by IS operatives, but became independent under local authority and refused to suborn themselves to IS command. They want their own little niche, kinda like a personal fiefdom within a larger Wahhabbi caliphate.

RichardD

aka Jew world order regime change variant – fill in the blank

BMWA1

Sounds like the guys you want to invite to Granny’s for tea!

Ronald

My take , is that Al Qaeda is the CIA officer corps , that they move in and out of command of ISIS , who are the cannon fodder run by the Pentagon . As you said both are Wahhabi Sunni’s , striving to achieve their “Caliphate” or nation controlled by their extreme Sharia law .

Vitex

I don’t think even HTS knows that

888mladen .

The less they know the better. As long as handlers do all good.

888mladen .

What have we learned from this? No boots on the ground no victory. You may bomb from the air as much as you want. What Iran has been doing? Lack of commitment from RU and IR? They don’t want to commit ground troupes plenty of evidence. No need of generals SAA need soldiers. SAA troupes have been depleted by the war of attrition. NDF forces have proved time and again to be of hardly any value, more a liability than an asset.

dutchnational

Manwhile, as far as I know, Qaryatayn is still in the hands of IS. When is that going to be cleared?
