HTS Claims Its Terrorists Repelled New Syrian Army Attacks On Idlib

Al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) claimed on November 21 that its terrorists had repelled new ground attacks by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in southeastern Idlib.

The terrorist group news network, Iba’a, claimed that the SAA attempted to advance towards the area of Ard al-Zurzur at least twice in the morning. However, both attempts were allegedly foiled by HTS’ terrorists.

“A large number of militiamen [Syrian service members] were killed or wounded as Mujahedeen repelled the advance attempts,” a report released by Iba’a reads.

Pro-government activists denied that the SAA launched a ground attack on Ard al-Zurzur. However, they confirmed that the area was shelled. No losses what so ever were reported.

A day earlier, the SAA launched a ground attack on the town of Misherfah, north of Ard al-Zurzur. The army entered the town. However, HTS and its Turkish-backed allies managed to recapture it within a few hours.

HTS’ claims were likely a propaganda stunt to rise morale of the group’s supporters, who are fearing a large-scale attack by the SAA on Greater Idlib.
