HTS Claims Syrian Army Helicopter Was Hit Over Northern Hama

Illustrative image

Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) claimed on July 5 that its air-defense units had hit a helicopter of the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) over the northern Hama countryside.

“The air defense companies of the al-Fath al-Mubin[HTS-led] operations room announced that a helicopter of criminal regime was hit … It left the airspace of the liberated areas after being damaged,” the terrorist group’s news network, Iba’a, said in a press release.

As usual, HTS didn’t present any proof to back its claims, which were not confirmed by any source on the government or the opposition side.

Last month, the terrorist group made at least three similar claims. All of them were proven to be false. Funny enough, the group’s claims came on a weekly basis. This allows to suggest that they were scheduled.

The lack of any proof and the timing of these claims indicate that they are a mere propaganda stunt by HTS to raise the morale of its fighters and supporters.

SAA has lost so many aircraft it is embarrassing.

Free man

Actually I think you’re wrong. SAA’s enemies don’t have anti-aircraft missiles. Therefore, relative to a 8-year war, the SAA lost small amount of aircrafts.

Bio_ Hazard

Yeah, HTS shot down 1,000,000,000 aircraft

d'Artagnan

Not borne by common sense or reality. Considering the 8 year long terror war against Syria by the most reprehensible terrorist elements recruited by US, Turkey, Israel, Saudis and UAE, the overall Syrian air losses have been quite low. Most of the aircraft lost were due to ground combat, captured or poor maintenance.

You think Iran and Russia helping assd for nothing..

d'Artagnan

This is a desperate and baseless claim and merits no credibility. According to most intelligence sources, by 2018 around 37 fixed wing and over 90 helicopters were lost, mostly when four major airbases were overrun by terrorists. Some 400 aircrew were killed, captured, or missing.
