HTS Continues Preventing Civilians From Leaving Idlib: SANA

For the twentieth day in a row, al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) prevented civilians from leaving Greater Idlib through the Abu Duhur humanitarian corridor.

The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported on October 2 that not a single civilian has managed to escape from the terrorist-held region, so far.

“The authorities are ready to welcome those who want to leave towards the safe areas, where a mobile clinic, ambulances along with their crews, buses, food and other supplies are prepared,” the state-run agency’s reporter said.

The Ab Duhur corridor was opened by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in September in order to facilitate the evacuation of civilians willing to leave Greater Idlib. However, HTS is preventing the evacuation.

The terrorist group blocked the other side of the corridor with berms, mines and military posts. The corridor’s perimeter was also shelled several times.

By continuing to block the humanitarian corridor, HTS is likely trying to hold civilians inside Greater Idlib as hostages in order to use them as human shields in the face of any future military operation.

Only compleet cowards force others to be their human shield. And this is the nature in that region: no honour, no ethic, no morality only obediens to a totalitair intolerant ideology.
