Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) has expanded its operations against ISIS cells throughout the northern governorate of Idlib, the Syrian news outlet, Enab Baladi, reported on January 23.
In one of many recent operations, security forces of the radical group captured 5 ISIS members in the town of Kafriya in the northern countryside of the governorate. HTS’ news network Iba’a revealed that one of the captured terrorist is “Shitiuyi,” a senior commander who managed to escape from a local prison weeks ago.
ISIS cells carried out a series of successful attacks in Idlib recently. In the most recent attack, a booby-trapped car blew up a key checkpoint of HTS in the southern part of Idlib’s city center. 15 civilians and militants were killed in the incident.
Following the attack, HTS took its war on ISIS a step further and executed 12 members of the group in what was seen as an attempt to intimidate anyone who sympathies with the self-proclaimed caliphate.
Despite of all of these efforts, ISIS’ influence in Idlib remains strong, according to local observers, who believe that the governorate has turned into a safe haven for extremists of all kinds under the rule of HTS.
So they fighting themselves?
The bickering is always the most extreme among those who are ideologically almost the same. Just like a family feud is also the most bitter.
Very funny satan is fighting g demons. With or without fighting each other their are going to die.No peace deal with Syrian forces because their Turkish future terrorists bargaining chip.Putin is busy making peace deal with Erdogans HTS.
HTS fights for Erdogans autonomous region of terrorists harbour for future attack on Syrian regime.USA NATO has vote for sanctions against Syrian government sales.
There’s only one difference between HTS and Isis, Isis thinks that even the Saudi regime is too easy on the disbelievers and doesn’t follow the practices of Islam strictly enough, they’d overthrow the Saudis and install an even harsher regime if they could. HTS on the other hand think the Saudis have the practice of religious and political oppression just about right, and they’re quite happy with the way things are, they just wish the Saudis hadn’t been forced to stop supporting them financially. One’s a rabid dog with stripes and the other’s a rabid dog with spots, but apart from that they’re both still rabid dogs. Assad’s cleaning his gun now and getting ready to put them both down.
